Slow off The line?

Anyone find their car is slow off the line? Doesn't really seem to get going until you are up to like 4K RPM'S. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this, or maybe I just need to learn how to use the clutch better?!

Next time I take it out, Im going to try turning off the traction control. I was kind of embarrassed earlier getting taken off the line by a ricer.

YEah, put it in competitive mode. Press traction control twice, in succession. Instant ricer cooker. I embarrassed a guy in an ISF last night.

What RPM are you launching at? A heavy car with a high output engine treads a fine line between "bog" and "boil".

I come off the line great (at ~3000 rpm)... and 0-60 is super fast (haven't timed it though).

however, I can't seem to get tire spin going into 2nd very easily. With my wifes 2009 GT it is very, very easy to chirp 2nd... sometimes I do it on accident.

I turned traction control and the AC off..... and now I can get a tiny little chirp, but nothing like the M5 GT.... and the GT will do it with "max AC" and traction control in the "enabled" state.

..... My 2SS M6 will still beat her M5 GT no problem.... but chirping 2nd is just fun... anyone think this might get better with LT headers, CAI, and tune? ... all which I plan to do soon.

Its the rear end gear ratio, way to high for what I like, its 3.27. They went this way for the fuel economy, but its not really that big of a fix. Nothing really outragous, just somewhere under just 3.73. Now if I can only find the ring and pinion the do this.

Actually the manual rear is 3.45 but there have already been people saying they wanted 3.70's or 3.90's. I will more than likely be upgrading mine but I don't even have my car yet. I will prob just take one step up but it was posted to take two steps to really feel the difference. Still gonna be an everyday driver for me though.

to chirp in higher gears you really have to pull your foot off of the clutch FAST, just keep practicing.
