Down here you dont see too many low 13 second L99 stockers unless the weather is great and that only happens here maybe 2 weekends out of the year. But mid 13's is about normal for stock L99 and low 13's for stock SS.

Buying a LS3 SS would have been a cheaper way to be as fast as an SS......LOL........The same $8000 would get the SS into the 10's........go ahead pound your chest.....you beat a stock SS with your V6......LMAO..........

You're cool bro...... Not

I don't recall spending $8,000 either...

Lets do some math.

Stock SS $32,000 + $8,000 = $40,000
- not taking into account the gas the insurance and higher monthly payment I would pay

Stock LT $24,000 + $5,900 = $29,900.
- not taking into account same as above

Soooo I think a V6 is cheaper and more unique then a modded common SS that's already fast

Some people said the ss was slow..................but for the conditions out there that day it wasnt much slower than most of the ones out there. Point is both cars can be faster whenever we have better weather but obviously that flew right over your head...............................

These v6's down here run 15 seconds when they're stock so we've dropped almost 2 seconds off the e.t. so a damn good improvement.

You should be laughing at yourself! Go get a cam done on your L99 and by the time you spend 8k youll have a cam, heads, and torque convertor and bolt-ons and run mid 12's if you can drive! You got another 15k before you run 10's and again only if you know how to drive

Well said. I don't think many people realize how much it takes make most cars run 2 sec faster in the quater mile. The ones that do know are not he armchair drivers.

This thread was brought on by a different thread where a member asked if any of these V6s were beating V8s. It was an honest question...not a chest thumping thread, and neither is this one even if the title is a bit missleading.

You will never get it, but its a V6 thing. We are not out with the sole purpose of beating up on big brother with our modded V6. Rather...just to make it the best it can be. In many ways we are still in an experimental stage while the SS owners have proven mods that have been around several years. So during our modding, if we happen to take down an SS, a GT, an SRT...a whatever....sorry but that is the victim. Do you know we had a V6 in the 11's with not much for mods...just some good ole nitrous. Its no different than some of these bad-ass turbo'd 4 bangers out there that'd woop your butt as well for well under the price of an SS.

He has a nice performing, unique car that is interesting for less than the cost of a new 1SS.

I personally say you did a good job, rock on! I say it's the same level of respect if we mod our SS to be faster than the ZL1.
