Bottom line, if you don't like it, don't buy it that way. It's all relative to what you want and can afford anyway. All cars are a bad deal anyway so you just have to get what you want and forget the money. Otherwise, buy a Honda from Carmax and call it good. I personally have a fortune tied up in cars (all paid for) and I love it as they make me happy and are sort of a hobby for me as well. When I make extra cash on Real Estate I buy more houses and cars. So far it's all worked out in my favor everytime. Just get what you want and don't sweat it, life is way to short brother...

Hmmm ... Let's see ...

$2800 in taxes for the government to waste
$850 for the shipping that has made me feels like I past 2 birthdays

I'm getting a crazy good musle car for less than $30k

Since the 2LT piled on the options, I saw the RS as rouding off the car.

Plus even at a whopping $1400, I'm looking at maybe $5/week over the loan period. Shoot, all you gotta do is give up one Big Mac a week. See your RS just made you more healthy! ...

In the end ... this thread is like many others ... It's all about your taste, priority and pocket book!

I just figured I am making an investment of sorts and probably will continue to put more in to it over time. But, then again I get to drive it!!

Personally, I bought a 1SS with no RS package. I didn't care for the leather or the RS package personally. That is not to say that to someone the leather or the HID's are worth it. I wanted a bare bones muscle car, and that is what I got. I also get a great sense of satisfaction that I got a 426hp rocketship for 31 grand.
I think you answered your own question ... people do ask for validation. Also, new people show up all the time and up pops a new thread regarding old discussions. I am sure you and I did the same to others.

Also, do believe that your input may cause someone to rethink one way or the other. It's all good ... just Camaro guys sharing thoughts and ideas and helping us make our own minds up.

Personally, if not for the input of many (even with dumb questions), I may have regretted some of my decisions.

I'm not here to convince someone to do what I did, just share what I did and what motivated me to. In the end we all are accountable for our final decisions.

Camaro5 rocks if not for that alone.

I wanted the total Camaro experience and I believe the RS just adds to it.

Life is really is short. Dance like nobody is watching.

And the Camaro can definitely teach you how to dance with style.

Really guys, we all have something in common. We love the camaro. Is the RS package a rip off.......no its a good price for what you get. I dont have mine, im waiting till the first of the year so you guys have alot more knowledge of this car. But for me personally i dont want Rs because I want to build the car my way (not saying the RS isnt great for the car) but im getting my own rims. HID's from AAC, including fogs for $1400. And for that price im also getting interior lighting so it doesnt make sense for me. ITs 5k more from the LS with no difference in the MOTOR. I am also getting the sawtooth spoiler. Its just about what you want and what your plans are for this car. Everyone does/wants something different but in the end we all have are hearts in this car and thats what matters. We all have great cars. Just my opinion

the Halo headlights look cool, but I don't need them...the wheels, they are so generic, so many cars come from the factory with similar designs...
taillights are not different enough to make that much of a difference... the rear spoiler, I just bought one for 114 dollars...
so to me the cost is not worth the options you get
I just read your signature, I paid $28,030 for my 1LT/RS with the Convenience and Connectivity Package. I think it's worth it, especially for only $700 more for the 20's and Headlights.

I think the RS Package is only $1,750.

It's $720 just to add 19" wheels so I'm sure 20" wheels would be AT LEAST $1,000. The headlights are about $800 each, the tail lights are $80 each so roughly $2,850 in parts. $150 for the spoiler and maybe $100 to paint the roof moldings so I'm gonna average it at about $3,000-$3,100 in parts.

So is it a rip off? No.
Do you need it? No.
Would I get it? Already did .

I dont really think RS is a "rip-off" but it is designed for someone who doesnt want to take the time or spend the money to make their Camaro original. The RS is a great look but there was no way I was gonna spend money on mods I would just replace anyway. There is no way I would roll the same wheels as every other Camaro on the road. Just my 2 cents.

Not if you bought an LS cuz you have to add 1LT to add RS so that takes you from 23,300 up to 27,100 plus the 1700 for the RS. That makes RS a 5,500 dollar option. I can do a heck of a lot of original and nicer mods with 5500 bucks. By the time I spend 5500 bucks on my Camaro it will blow away the looks of any RS on the road.
