Armor All Wheel Protectant is awesome. Clean the wheels, spray on, let dry several hours, and enjoy wheels that hose clean with water. Lasts 6 to 8 weeks before needing to reapply. Really good YouTube videos of this too.

Thought the 1LE and the Z had the same wheels. I use a speed brush and rim cleaner.

I use a large Speedmaster wheel brush to clean inner part of wheel and brake caliper . For the wheel lug area I use Adams trim and lug brush . Optimum car wash soap . Congratulations on your new zl1 .

There are a few good vendors to buy good detailing supplies. I use Autogeek for a lot of purchases.
http://www.autogeek.net/ The speed master is a great wheel cleaning tool. A great cleaner is Sonax see the link. http://www.autogeek.net/sonax-wheel-cleaner.html http://www.autogeek.net/daytona-spee...r-brushes.html I would pass on the normal wheel products avail at the typical parts house and use a coating. They are so much better and make taking care of the wheels and paint a breeze. http://www.autogeek.net/car-paint-gl...-coatings.html |

No amount of waxes, glazes, sealants or protectants will keep them clean for very long from brake dust or road grime. And NOTHING will let you just hose of dirt and dust with a hose. The best thing is ceramic pads that give almost zero brake dust. I have Brembos on my Regal GS and every couple of days I have to use a wheel duster to clean the brake dust off of them.

Naw ceramic pads suck for performance. Just coat them and be done with it, I coated mine with this and it works. Couldn't be any easier and no compromise on braking performance.

Wheel cleaning....
Go ahead, laugh. I use a fisktank cleaning pad! Soft yet will knock off the grime. Long reach too for getting the entire wheel through the openings.
