Next Mod is a Shifter!

I know this is the wrong section of the forums to post this in but the reason why I did this to see how the 450-500 hp cars are doing? My choices are the usual suspects, the Barton being 1st, the MGW 2nd, and the Hurst 3rd! Looking for feed back and experiances with any of the thre!

I have the Hurst and I love it. I will add thought that I have dealt with Barton also and they have much bigger selection of knobs and their customer service is top notch. I ordered a ball from them and they send me the V6 one by mistake. They did not even ask for the V6 knob back and sent me a V8 knob the next day.

I think you will be pleased either way to go.

Thanks man, I'm really leaning towards the Barton right now! Are you back? I should be at Target tomorrow!

Do yourself a favor and don't buy over priced parts.

I installed a Hurst today and think the Barton feels better.

MGW, no question about it. I have driven cars with Barton and Hurst. I like my MGW the best. It is smooth and precise. I have never missed a shift.

MGW gets my vote. I love my MGW, and my friends who have tried it like it as well. +1 for MGW!

The MGW changes out the whole shifter assembly. Everything on top of the transmission. It's fast, smooth, and precise. The 1-2 takes a split second and there's a spring mechanism that pulls the shifter back to center to make the shift into 3rd like butter. I recently switched it all back to stock to trade for my 2012, and I don't know how I drove this car before the MGW. I've missed 3rd more times than I can count and shifting into 2nd takes so long that a few times I've released the clutch before it was even in gear! I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER missed a shift with the MGW. The 2-3 shift is almost a straight UP motion. Absolutely no "fishing" for your gear. It's always right there where it needs to be. On top of that, the composite race knob feels like a high performance shifter knob should feel, not like a deflated baseball. The install took me about 2 hours completely alone on jack stands. The instruction video is just awesome.

+1 for MGW

I had the Hurst initially but it felt to "clunky" for me. When speed shifting it was fine but just shifting around town I had what felt like a bad syncro in the trans. It's also a little taller than MGW or even the factory.

Love my MGW. I have the Race Knob and it fits great in my hand but will get hot if you leave it in the sun.

Definatley more to installing the MGW though. Also the price is more but you are changing out the complete shifter and not just he shaft.

Alot of people really like the Hurst and Barton. It's probably going to be a personal preference thing. Best thing you can do is find someone that has them installed and try to get a feel for the different shifters.

LG Motorsports is steadily building our line of products for the 5th generation Camaro and we are now proud to introduce our newest addition, the Camaro Short Shifter!

STOCK KNOB

THREADED VERSION

These HD one piece steel shifters are a easy and direct replacement for the sloppy stock units. No multi piece, or rubber insulated sticks here! You will see a reduction in throws by over 25% and a positive feel of how a shifter should be in a sports car.

We are offering units that will accept the factory knobs, as well as a threaded version for those wanting a screw on knob. The threaded shafts will also accept our famous Corvette "Man Knob" for those that want or need a controllable button on the side for turning on NOS systems, line locks, or what ever your heart desires.

We offer two styles of threaded knobs right now, our famous tall Delrin knob and a round knob.

ROUND KNOB

TALL KNOB

STOCK KNOB

THREADED AND STOCK STICKS SHOWN WITH MAN KNOB, ROUND, TALL, AND STOCK

See it in Action!
