need help with back seat ! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So I am now halfway though installing a backup camera into my convertible. I can not figure out how to remove rear seat back.Any help would be appreciated.

Also I found a ignition switch key lock hidden beside rear seat on drives side. What the heck is this for?

The key hole is for opening the trunk if I ain't mistaken! A friend of mine has a vert and his trunk wouldn't open, and I believe he put the key in and turned it to open it! Or it keeps the seats from letting down! 1 of the 2

The key is a trunk release. There are two holes in the top of the back of the seat. You put a screwdriver in it, push on the latch release, push the seat backwards, then allow the screwdriver to push the seat forwards -- past the latch. Do it on both sides. That releases the top of the back of the seat. I don't know what the final step is to either get it to fold all the way down or come out, but that'll get you started.

You probably figured this out too, but all you have to do once you unlatch both sides is just pull the seat down/forwards. There's another latch that will release as you pull. I just got a good look at that cheapo woofer back there tonight. =(
