Angry Scrapped Front Diffuser help please!

Ok, I kinda knew it was going to be an eventuality. Not a matter of if I would scrape the front end but more a matter of when. I certainly didn't think it would be in the first two weeks!
Broke my heart! And I've been trying to be so careful!
Pulled up to a curb and "Thunk", drove right up onto it...
Well, now that the deed is done, any ideas of how to best fix it? I now the obvious is either buy a new Carbon Fiber or factory replacement but has anyone had any luck sanding/fixing? I know the plastic isn't smooth so that finish would be tough to replicate...
Also, does anyone make a small protector that could help protect the point on the end? Maybe out of billet aluminum or something?

Thanks in advance!

A new OEM one is like $175 bucks and I'd consider it a wear items like brake pads or tires, don't be so hard on yourself.

IF you put a CF one on the car...well don't come crying to us if you scrape it or destroy it!

As far as protector, my ZL1 came with this setup:

When I saw 'scrapped', I thought you meant you had tossed it in the trash. Then, I realized you meant 'scraped' as in 'scuffed'.

Easy to replace and like someone else said, if you drive your car much, it's gonna happen.

I replaced the front valance (under spoiler thingy) on my Vette, because I kept hitting curbs. :( It was a $220 lesson, but at least an easy fix.

I'm being very careful with my ZL1.

Thanks everyone.
Looks like it will be an easy fix but is still horribly aggravating!

That thing take a beating anyways, it's like a vacuum cleaner down there and gets beat up from road debri. Definitely a replaceable item.

Yea it's a wear item and it's not armadillo proof. From what the body guy tells me it's pretty straight forward. Good luck.

Good information. I did not know that the lower grille was relatively inexpensive.

Get it from your local dealer and have them price match gmpartsdirect it will be very close in price and you don't pay any shipping. My dealer had it for around $160.00 they priced matched it for $120.00 with tax was around $130.00 out the door and I picked it up. Gm direct wants about $103.00, but shipping is around $120. for me and that's CRAZY!! Good luck
