$1616.72 is the MSRP for the Bi-Xenon HID lamps on the Camaro. And realistically, having worked for a major lighting manufacturer, and $1000-1600 for a bi-xenon projector assembly, the ballasts, and arc lamps is a going rate for the whole assembly left and right, depending on the complexity of the projector housing and whether or not it is motorized for self leveling etc... |

Everyone has their own opinion on it so if it fits your budget and you even remotely think you want it....get it.
Those looking at getting an LT, in IOM, it's a no brainer. For what you get I think it's well worth the upgrades. With the SS in general it's mostly about the HID/Halos. Personally I like the looks of the Halogen light housing. I think they make the car look more retro and have more of the muscle car look. The RS lights make it look slightly more european to me. Just my opinion.....NO FLAMING PLEASE!!! I'm going without the RS pkg but I want HID so I'm going with the AAC setup like Orange5thGen's setup. His car looks awesome with those Afterburner tail lights and the orange Halos. The AAC might not be quite as good the factory setup but they are a good product and should last without any issues. Plus for me, and I know this is minor, but I'm getting a VR and the white SS emblems stick out much better than the red SS badges. On top of all that the cost of a non RS 2SS is right on the border of where I'll be comfortable for my car payments. I need that extra money for the mods I think are an absolute necessary.

For me, the painted roof ditch moulding is worth the price of admission

Love it. It was the one option I had to have. Getting the 2LT, I wanted the 20" wheels, love the HID's, and can't imagine a Camaro without a spoiler.

Don't like it, don't buy it. The 5th is a great-looking car, no matter what model you go with. IMO, the RS package will be a more sought after feature later on, besides I personally like it.

If you think the RS package is a rip-off then pass on it - its a free country.
The RS package makes the Camaro stand-out - that's why I got it and love it.

I agree 100% with CAVERMAN. I think the standard lights look more retro, as do the white SS letters. The ONLY thing I like in the RS package is the body colored drip molding (I ordered Imperial Blue Metallic which is so close to black it solves that issue for me).
I could easily afford the RS package, it just doesn't appeal to me personally. We all have different tastes, if we didn't they would only need to make the car in one color. Best Wishes......................Art |
