Quick Ordering/Deposit Question
I just received a fax copy of my Preliminary Order Detail sheet. At the end of it is a written statement signed by the Internet Manager stating, "$500 deposit will be refundable if the vehicle comes in and is damaged or is not what was ordered." Shouldn't the deposit be refundable for any reason? How should I respond?
Thanks in advance. |

Check with your state laws. I know that in Texas there is no such thing as a non-refundable deposit -- regardless of what anyone tells you. They can try to push back on it but when push comes to shove, you can get a deposit back.
Check NY law on deposits. |

I'll see if I can find some more information on that. Also, I'm purchasing from a dealer in PA. Am I checking NY law or PA law at that point?

All I can say is "know what you are agreeing to and signing". An informed consumer is a SMART consumer.
If your not confortable with the deal, don't accept it. |
