“The biggest challenge was the fuel pump itself,” explains Lee, noting that other exotic DOHC powerplants have up to four pumps to serve the fuel system. “With only one pump we had to increase the size and displacement to handle 625-plus horsepower worth of fuel.” GM increased the piston size in the pump but didn’t have to change the tri-lobe cam design that drives the pump.

They were so cheap after the discount, I ordered the intake cams, too. I probably don't need them, but at least we can confirm they fit and put them on a wheel to get the specs.

I just noticed something interesting about the intake cams though, so I hope purchasing them wasn't a waste of money... The LF3 intake cam part numbers come up as cams that are currently in production vehicles, used in: 2013 Buick Enclave Base 3.6L V6 - GAS 2013 Cadillac CTS Base 3.0L V6 - GAS 2013 Cadillac CTS Luxury 3.0L V6 - GAS 2013 Chevrolet Traverse LS 3.6L V6 - GAS 2013 Chevrolet Traverse LT 3.6L V6 - GAS 2013 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ 3.6L V6 - GAS 2013 GMC Acadia DENALI 3.6L V6 - GAS 2013 GMC Acadia SL 3.6L V6 - GAS 2013 GMC Acadia SLE 3.6L V6 - GAS 2013 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 Buick Enclave Base 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 Cadillac CTS Base 3.0L V6 - GAS 2012 Cadillac CTS Luxury 3.0L V6 - GAS 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport LT 3.0L V6 - FLEX 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport LTZ 3.0L V6 - FLEX 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LT 3.0L V6 - FLEX 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ 3.0L V6 - FLEX 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LT 3.0L V6 - GAS 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ 3.0L V6 - GAS 2012 Chevrolet Malibu LT 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 Chevrolet Traverse LS 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 Chevrolet Traverse LT 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 GMC Acadia DENALI 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 GMC Acadia SL 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 GMC Acadia SLE 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6L V6 - GAS 2012 GMC Terrain SLE 3.0L V6 - FLEX 2012 GMC Terrain SLT 3.0L V6 - FLEX 2012 GMC Terrain SLE 3.0L V6 - GAS 2011 Buick Enclave CX 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 Buick Enclave CXL 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 Chevrolet Malibu LT 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 Chevrolet Traverse LS 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 Chevrolet Traverse LT 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 GMC Acadia SL 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 GMC Acadia SLE 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 GMC Acadia SLT 3.6L V6 - GAS 2011 GMC Acadia DENALI 3.6L V6 - GAS Notice that the Camaro is not listed. I don't know if you can (or want) to cancel the intake cams coming in light of this info... It would still be interesting to see if there is a difference in the cam profile. |

Food for thought.....
"the heads are sealed to the block with a multilayer-steel (MLS) gasket design that will withstand higher cylinder pressures, and contribute to a lower 10.2:1"

Hopefully the LF3 cams still make sense to convert to. Can you check the exhaust cam numbers and reference them across the other vehicles?
