$120/hr is steap! 6 hours for an install is completely bogus. I installed my own headers on a set of 8" ramps in 2.5 hours. Easiest header install I have ever done.

I hope someone down in your area will be willing to install them for you. Good luck.

I'm glad it's not just me who feels this way.

I replied to the Texas thread about your headers.. Like I said I wont be back for another 11 days but if you aren't in a hurry I'd be glad to help. I take beer for payment. Should only take a couple hours for install.

Towlie, Come over to facebook and look up Capital City Camaro Club, and join us for some fun. As for the install depending on where you are in Austin, or willing to drive, I would hit up Aikman Performance Tuning and Repair in Cedar Park for that install, Jerry will treat you right, they are also on facebook. If you are cool with a garage day, there are a bunch of people in the club that love to turn their own wrenches and would be more than happy to help.

Well hot hell on wheels!, thank you for that call out on my part. parts won't be here till roughly the 20th due to turn around time on the ceramic coating. I have decided to go with the other shop for a couple of reasons. One, I like to give back when I can, like paying labor to a establishment that is really works for their "bread on the table" so to speak. Second, the pricing is right on. Third and finally, I have done some research and actually gone for a few "face to face" talks and feel comfortable with them doing the work and tuning it all in. I'll be taking it to Reckart Performance in Cedar park if anybody wants to chime in on their experiences with them.

LMAO, yup, that's who I have been speaking too. I like to research several sources and try to do an educated process of elimination for shop choice ($ how much, reviews, current projects and so on). My original post was not 5 min after my phone call for price comparisons. I have to answer the vault keeper (aka the wife) so I make ALOT of calls. ;-) I will def look it up on face book for sure. Thank you to all you for the support, it's very reassuring to know there are still good people left out there.

I did my shorties and HF cats on them, it was enough room to do the job, took me 4 hrs (first time doing headers).

I'd stay far away from any shop that tells you it takes more than 4 hours to do a header job, and at $120/hr quote I'd have thanked them for the laugh and hung up on them.
