SS Owners..Are you content with the stock exhaust?
Are you happy with the stock exhaust system or do you feel that it needs more rumble? I myself, am debating about getting the Borla S catback system.

this is the first mod a new SS owner should do. Stock cans look frigging cheap and ugly and too quiet!

trying a muffler delete before throwing down on a full system. I hear with just that it sounds pretty nice. Not looking for more performance, just sound.

like the way the car sounds on the inside under acceleration with the CAI Intake but still too quiet on the outside. Want more deep rumble without any raspiness. Going back and forth back and forth and someday will finally make a decision on which Catback to go with. Leaning just a bit towards Flowmaster AT

I will be getting the borla as soon as I get comfortable making the payments and set aside some money for it.
The only true "mods" I'll probably do to the car is the exhaust and a cold air intake; a little whistle in the front to go with the grumble, and a lot of rumble and sputter in the back. Edit: Damn, I forgot about how good flowmaster's sounds. I'll probably choose between the two. |

The plans are to add headers, x-pipe and new tips.... but keep the mufflers.
I actually like the way the mufflers are molded to the back of the car. Makes sense they would help stop turbulance at the rear bumper cover. I painted them BBQ black as soon as I could get to a paint store!

The stock exhaust is plenty loud when you get on the pedal, I see no reason to change just so it can be loud sitting at traffic lights.

I've been pretty happy with the stock setup. I might change it down the road, but I understand if you have the L99 it makes the AMF more noticable, and I don't plan on doing any kind of mod that would tune that out and void my warranty. Once the car is out of warranty all bets are off :-)
