High flow cats...

Did a search on here and read that it won't pass but has anyone actually smogged their cars yet with HFC's on? Specifically the SOLO HFCs.

Thanks.

Well we don't have to smog the cars now for what 5-6 years so it's not time yet

And when it's time to smog but the stock exhaust back on and problem solved, it'll most likely be a visual and if the tech knows what he's looking at or cares he'll fail it

Normally that's what I would do but my home owners association does not allow me to work on or wash my car on premises so that mean I'd have to take it to a shop. But I think I'll be going that route with the HFC's. Thanks

I rented a place with a HOA once and that was the rule...I decided then and there I would never buy in a HOA. good news is a shop wont charge much to change them out.

How will a smog Tech even know they are high flows? I know the obvious is that stock has 4 versus high flows have 2, but will the tech even know that?

I'm guessing that the number of cats for OEM will show up on the computer when they punch in your vehicle's make and model.

I'm not getting headers. Headers I know won't pass unless it's the ARH. As for the high flow cats, that's what I'm gonna do. I already ordered them.

Thanks everyone.

Interesting to know how the guy you would pay off is going to get your smog passed. Everything is done electronically and the smog test results are sent directly to the DMV. And for the smog shop to lose their smog license is more detrimental to their business than getting a small pay off to pass the smog. But let's say if you were able to pull it off, please share the info cuz I would like to get my smog passed too when I get headers

I think there are a couple of other brands of shorties that will pass. JBA and Doug Thorley specifically.
