Wow are you for real. I was simply stating what one of the best tuners for these cars said when I asked him if a fuse pull was necessary after getting his tune!
So get your panties out of a bunch and stop trying to pick fights.
I'll take what he says over your supposed facts all day long...

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Name-dropping AND name-calling?? Your overreaction drips with insecurity and one-upmanship. Maybe you should read my posts again carefully, and see if you aren't man enough to admit you may be overreacting just a tad with accusations of "picking a fight" and everything else. Pretty funny to read, though.

Did the fuse pull and noticed a significant difference. I forgot my mom drove my car one day a while back and put 87 in it :/ She's definitely awake now! Thanks everyone. Time for a 1le soon lol

Just an update. It's been 3-4 weeks since the last time I pulled the fuses, and my car is still running great. No relapse. I've been filling the tank every time instead of ever putting less than 4 gallons of gas in from stations that only have 1 hose dispensing all 3 octane options.

I think that was the answer all along. Residual 87 octane in the hose was contaminating the rest of what I bought.

Will update occasionally.

Tried the fuse pull on my 2013 1SS and yes I felt the difference. Also I burned the whole tank of BP out and switched to shell as well. Car felt better then the first day I drove it.

Put about 13 gallons of premium in my car today. One hose for all three octane types.
It is still a ****ing BEAST!!!!

Every week that passes I'm a little more certain that the four year battle to figure out why I needed to do the fuse pull is OVER!!!

i don't know if this has been discussed or not, but i have an ls3 with a tune. Would the tune correct this? aslo, if i pull the fuses and let it reset would it mess up my tune?

I started a thread about my cars lame performance
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=329021
and the fuse pull suggestion from SinsterEcho was quick and timely.
I shoullda read this sticky 1st.
The fuse pull DEFINATELY worked for me. If your Gen 5 lags.. DO THIS!

It is a quick, free, change that makes a WORLD of difference in how my car drives.

We can only get 91 octane in Utah. Is this high enough to let it run in the "high" octane fuel mapping?

I believe 91 is the lowest that allows it to remain in the high table.

I find Shell 91 to give me best fuel economy. We have petro Canada and husky which have 94 but fuel economy went down using those for some reason

I am 100% convinced that the reason my car has been reverting back to the lower octane table was that I was putting only 2-3 gallons of premium in my car by using the same hose that dispenses lower octanes. I don't put a ton of miles on my car.
Ever since I started filling up each time, my car has been performing properly.

It was making me crazy that my 400 hp car wasn't always the same rocket that my '97 Z28 was.
My car has been great for over 3 months now. No comparison. Just awesome.
So many Camaro SS sitting on used car lots.
