Remember the Summer of 2009

Let it be known that 20 years from now, you will all remember the summer of 2009. This will be the summer that the Camaro was reintroduced and will be everywhere. This will be the time when your kids were saying "Dad, let's go to the Chevy dealer and see the new Camaro"! This will be the time when we all have been waiting patiently for the reintroduction of this muscle car icon.

I know how I felt in the summer of 1963 and I will remember it always.

Remember and cherish the summer of 2009.

Here's the new song:

I got my six digit order number
At my Chevy dealer, real fine
Now the waitin's gonna begin
It was summer of 2009

Me and some guys from school
Ordered a few and we tried real hard
Thought my dealer was an idiot
I shoulda known we'd never get far

Oh when I look back now
The ordering time seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
I'd get the factory stripes
Those were the best days of my life

(CHORUS)

Ain't no use in complainin'
When you got a forum to do
Spent my evenings down at the cruise in
And that's when I met you

Standin' with my Workbench sheet
You told me that I'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
That was the best car time of my life

(Chorus) Back in Summer of 2009

Man we were killin' time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess R6P can't last forever, no

And now the times are changin'
Look at the dealers that've come and gone
Somethimes when I rev that new V8
I think about ya wonder what went wrong

Standin' with my Workbench sheet
You told me that I'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
That was the best car time of my life
===============================
Well, you know what I mean!

Haha, remember this for all time!

RPO Z28, that was very well put. And many stories will come out of all the stuff we all went through to get our cars

Patiently? Am I missing something here? Waiting for this car will always be remembered like developing really bad diarrhea at your own wedding and you remember the day for the WRONG reason.

This was # 1 when the 69 came out.

Hey jude don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her into your heart.
Then you can start to make it better.

Hey jude don't be afraid.

You don't know it yet but once you actually get yours and start driving it, you will forget all of the bad stuff and all the waiting.

I promise!

Remember and cherish the summer of 2009.

Not only this summer, but all of last year. My story will be how my dad and I fell in love with the Camaro. We have always loved Chevy and we loved the other 4 generations of Camaro's. But we truly fell in love with the Camaro once the movie transformers came out. This simply was the way we were introduced to this amazing car. But soon after that there were those rumors about the car might not be produced. This upset us a lot beings that we decided that we wanted to buy a muscle car before they stopped making them and all cars were high in MPG's and were mostly hybrid. So we started our search for a car. But we were losing hope because we are true Chevy enthusiasts and didn’t want to purchase a ford or dodge vehicle. Well shortly after we started to lose our hope Chevy came out and said they were going to make the Camaro we instantly knew that was the car we wanted. After a few months of hearing mixed stories on what engine and transmission was going into the Camaro, we decided to head down to a local dealership and test out a vette. We liked it, but we decided to trust our instincts and wait for the Camaro. Well before we knew it October came around and we were extremely happy. But because of the economy we waited to order the car. The sad part of the story is my grandmother was very sick with cancer. When we ordered the car she was very ill and she was soon to pass away. The following day, after we ordered the car, she passed away. So this car to us is not only a passion, but it is a tribute to my grandmother. We showed her the car a few months before she passed, she loved it. The car was something me and my dad loved, and she witnessed our obsession for the car, and she supported us in getting it. So we decided that we were going to do what ever we can to get a hold of the car we are all in love with here on this site. So this year to me and my family has been the year of the Camaro. And I will always remember the year of 2009. Family, Chevy and good times.
-Paul, I am 16years old and am from Colorado. I am currently, and will always be a GM enthusiast

LOL! I'm sure I will. Just a poor attempt at bad humor. Did you get your car already? Did you preorder? If so, when? Just curious.
