Honestly, I am disappointed by the ford guys. The z is on par with the ore 2013 gt500, so there is no need to rag on it. Granted some of the comments from Al O BEG for r shit talking, but he did what is expected of him.
Uh...what?

Just noticed this post. Rather unrelated, but the very first time my old 88 Mustang LX Coupe got into the 12's was a 12.999 run - I didn't care if there were 10 million 9's on the end of that 12 - it was a 12 second run! The very next run was a 13.000, and I didn't break into the 12's the rest of that day.

And please keep in mind....this was 1988 (many of you weren't even born)...12's were pretty quick then...

LOL I don't think there are many <24 year olds on this site. I would assume most people on here are in their 40s or older.

I totally agree with you... but that post you quoted was TOTALLY scarcastic... you would need to read all the previous posts to understand.

Hey Folks,
been hanging-out here a bit but never posted. Seems to me the silliness has gotten out-of-hand about this car . As an 'old dude', I've been driving the Generals' cars for years (still miss my first 'bought new' bad ride, a '70 Olds W 31 bought right off the showroom floor!). I think the small number of Bowtie fans moaning about this car should think back to the late '70's & 80's when you really couldn't buy a 'hot car' off the floor - you had to do it yourself if you wanted more horsepower.
I was sick when the last generation of F-bodies went away (still have my '01 WS6 ) and wasn't sure we'd see anything to replace them. Now, we've got more than one choice from the General. Sure, it's not like it was in the 'good ol' days' and it never will be - those days are gone forever and they ain't coming back. Current politics will eventually make these cars extinct, maybe sooner than we think. If you have one, enjoy every minute of it while you can - your children may just have to hear your stories to understand what it was like - they may not have the opportunity you do.
Forgive my ramblings...
Oilfieldtrash, over-and-out

P.S. I order mine next spring

Agreed and i fear within the next 5 years our choices and ability to mod will diminish a bunch.

I agree and is the exact reason I jumped on the 2012 ZL1. Before long the government will want everyting running on leaves. Trust me guys, this won't last forever so we need to enjoy it while it lasts.

Exactly! I've been in the oil/gas industry for over 20 years and with the policies the current Obama administration is pushing through the EPA the days of the American 'Hotrod' and 'Muscle Car' is coming to an end. Today we have the most powerful Camaro's, Corvettes, and Mustangs ever produced. You guys better enjoy them while you can because their days are numbered. This is part of the reason why a lot of us got into 'hot rodding' our diesel trucks because they will never go away. Over the next 5-7 years the gas powered hot rod will become an endangered species. Drive em like you stole em and stop complaining that they ONLY run low 12's. Its the fastest showroom Camaro ever built and it was purposely designed to shine on the road coarse. If its a fraction of a second slower than the Mustang at the drag strip it's still a major accomplishment for a 'road course' car. No one leaves their car's stock anyway so who cares what it does out of the box. I remember the days when we thought 280hp was huge and breaking into the 14's was something. Appreciate what we have available in these fine cars because the government is working hard at doing away with them.
