About the license thing... I really didn't know we would be shooting for under 10 seconds until the car ran 10.06 at C5F3 last year. I was new to drag racing and knew I needed to make some passes to get the NHRA comp license, but I really wasn't aware of the physical requirement until it was too late. D'oh! I asked my doctor. He said no. That's life. I moved on.

I can still drive the car at the track if we tune it to make sub 10 second passes. I can still drive it on the street and to car shows (and I will). Right now, however, we are getting ready to compete at the LSX events this year. I want to see what it can really do, then maybe we will tinker with the tune to make it suitable for me to drive it at a later time.

I keep the interior as stock looking as I can because I want to show it as well as race it. We may take out the back seat eventually. I already sold my subwoofers and we took out the air conditioner out this spring. I like the idea of having a really fast car that can still be a street car incognito.

I'm actually very happy with the car and I'm having fun with it. That's what matters to me.
The most important thing is too be happy, and if you are happy that's all that matters. My heart just sank when I read that after all this work, you wouldn't be cleared to race it on your own in competition.

The build hit a certain point where it went from lots of money and pretty stout street car, to huge money and the scope of the build really exploded... it's funny how we always start modding telling ourselves only a few parts, this is where I want to be, and over time that goes out the window once the mod bug bites.

Car is doing great. We are still dialing it in. We had to adjust the rear shocks a bit. But, they are now back and ready to rock and roll.

We will have it ready for C5 Fest.

Have you had the chance to street drive it any of late? If so, how is that?

We have driven it on the street. We have to be careful to keep the right foot light on the go pedal or it gets kind of squirrelly on street pavement. It needs a track for the back wheels to stick. But, it is really quite easy to drive if you keep the throttle at reasonable levels for the street.

But, once we finish dialing it in for the track, I have asked the tuner to put a street tune in it for 93 octane gas so I can drive it on some cruises and at car shows.

How did it do at Atlanta? I thought I saw the breakdown and it read B. Williams and had a 10 something next to it. I can't see your car going that slow unless its on 4 cylinders!

You can put 93 in it and safely put it around the way it is now. That's what I usually do. But Ted did give me bigger pulleys and a specific 93 tune.

Just got back from 3 weeks in Alaska. Whew! It was an amazing trip and we are very tired.

I've not had a lot of internet access or time to post in that time. Now that I'm back, I'll post some updates soon... after I get all the laundry done!

We are going to do one more test and tune before C5Fest next week. We had broken and axle at the last test session we had. Also, Mark's vette had an engine fire the same day. So, we decided not to go to Atlanta. Mark's trailer with all the goodies on board are our main pit support tools. So, we decided not to go to Atlanta.

We not have new axles (thanks to DSS!) and we have dialed in the struts to help with the axle issues. Ah... the fun of having a race car.

I am getting very excited to come to C5F to see you guys again. The guys from IPS will be camping at the track, so come look for the big motorhome with the trailer attached. Mark Carlyle will be hauling my car and one of us will drive his Camaro (he is going to show it. He has an awesome 5th gen!).

Thanks to the guys at IPS, expecially Tom, thank to Patrick for tuning the car, and thanks to Mark for helping me out. I really appreciate everything you guys do. Oh and thanks to Bob W. for risking life and limb driving my car!
