Sure, the ZL1 will be heavier but better weight distribution + wider tires + trick suspension + rigid chasis = better traction.

Oh, and GM said back in February that the ZL1 is getting 3:73's
Good to know. those 3.73's will wake up this car, we will see some really impressive numbers on the track (0-60, 1/4mile) IF this car doesn't weight too much.

Edit: whats the rev-limiter of the ZL1? I heard it's 6200rpm? if it's true I think this car will get to 60mph by shifting 3 gears which will definitely affect the 0-60 time negatively.

I don't know why people persist on being ignorant about the supposed benefits of IRS and MRC. MRC doesn't improve performance - it just makes the ride more comfortable. Cars with regular racing suspension perform better than MRC. Case in point: Nissan GT-R.
I think you're stuck on acceleration and not the total package.
Regardless of whether one is a tenth or two faster than the other the Camaro is the far more sophisticated and rigid chassis.
And we haven't even talked about looks yet. LOL.

3.73s are good but keep in mind that redline is only 6200rpms.
I've heard rumors that GM is going to take out the .57 6th gear and putin the taller .50 6th that they used to use in '90s and early '00s in the 4th gens and Corvettes.
With all the tq the car has it can certainly pull a .50 gear and hwy rpms will be 7% less.

cts-v won their (first vid) cause of traction,The gt500 just needs wider tires and it would be a much better car. look at trap speeds.

Some of these private car vs car vids are stupid. No way to know if one is moded or not. OR moded beyond what's stated.

Its not gonna take 3 gears to hit 60. My stock SS will hit 53mph in 1st gear alone.

There should be no reason to shift three gears!! Two...like usual.

I did the math quick, a 6000-rpm shift point will take the car to 51mph in first, then shift down to 4000 rpm in second and pull up to 60mph at 4700 rpm. Which is pretty cool, actually, because second gear @ 45-51mph will drop you right into the peak of the LSA's torque curve.

They did this with the ZR1 to improve it's hwy mpg figure. Went from 20 to 22, iirc. If team Camaro is seriously looking to avoid the GG tax, this is an effective path to take, imo...

They still got time to do these stuff, so they better get it right from the first time.We want this car to be a GT500 killer no matter what shelby comes out with.

I hope GM is listening.
Ive seen the new stang, Ford did make the rear of the Mustang better but the front is ugly.
