PLEASE HELP VMAX TB - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

i just installed my throttle body and when i started it up a really big whine came from the engine and stayed whining and the car started running very rough i checked everything and its all bolted down tight and the intake is properly put on and it sounds like its def coming from the throttle body did i mess something up on the install cause i followed the instructions on putting it on

took intake off to see them better if this isnt good enough i can take a video of the whine

for one, you have what appears to be a throttle body spacer.... I've not known those to help direct injection vehicles (i could be wrong)

I wonder if that is part of the issue?
a whoosing sound or sucking of air is okay and normal but a whine? hmm depends what it sounds like i suppose..

the spacer was a gift i didnt buy it i just put it on b/c i didnt think it would hurt anything

Throttle body spacer could be your problem. I think I read somewhere on these forms that a throttle body spacer does not work correctly with the vmax ported throttle body. Don't take my word on that, I could have misread something

than im going to take it off and see if it goes away thank you for the responses im going to upload a video for you all to hopefully the exhaust isnt to loud like on my phone for you to hear it

yea im taking the spacer out right now to see if it fixes it i really hope it does

Sounds like the spacer is leaking air around it. might be why you got it free.
