ZL1 question limited production?

Hey everyone I apologize if this has been discussed already just so many threads to go through!!
I was wondering if the zl1 is going to be just a limited production car?
Or will it be fully produced once they release them from their hold up
I've read some post that it will be, then it won't be just wasn't really sure.
Anyone know for sure?? Thanks!

2012 - less than the number of Chevy dealerships in the U.S.

So limited means less than 3000 ZL1's produced in 2012, I believe I read somewhere that there were some 3000 dealerships across the nation.

2012 will be limited only because the launch is close to the YM release of te 13'... I'd say te 13 will be produced And made for those who want one built

Way less than 3000. Theres only 500 made now, and not enough time to make a lot more.

Instant Collectors Item

There's still time to increase 2012 production, 2013 production doesn't start until June. I personally would like the 2012 numbers to stop at around 1000 units or less.

Isn't there a re-tool period between model years?

They made ~500 in what, 2 weeks?

Model year change over happens sometime in July. So they'd have 3 full months to build ZL1s, plus a couple weeks. At that rate, they'd have enough time to could crank out another 4000 cars (give or take) if they wanted to.

Mmy car was built the last day of the second week, #141. Granted start up probably had hickups, but it was longer than 2 weeks for the first 500.

Actually it seems like the first to roll off the line was around 1-25, the last around 3-6. I believe there were 2 weeks of shutdown sandwiched in there. Based on those numbers, I still think there will be about 2000, give or take depending on when production gets rolling again.

There won't be many built because there is not a high demand for a car of this nature. These will be rare cars. There aren't very many people that are in the market for a 60k Camaro. You'll probably never see one besides your own on the streets. I see about 1 GT500 every 6 months and I live in Las Vegas. This is a town where every other car is a Mustang or Camaro. If exclusivity is your goal with this car, then I think you shouldn't worry too much about the number. Ultimately, there won't be many built.
