Picked up my 1SS/RS today. Wow!

Well, weather finally cooperated, and I drove down to get my 1SS/RS manual tranny today. Wow, what a vehicle. I'm sure I'll show my age when I report that I drove 170 miles from the dealership, and my song listed included AC/DC ( Hells Bells), Tom Petty (Running Down a Dream), Aldo Nova (Fantasy), and Van Halen (Running with the Devil).

I'll further carbon-date myself when I say that I felt like Mad Max driving the last V8.

I know, I know, this thread is useless without pictures. I'll post some as soon as I take them.

Joe.

Joe.

Been there done that.

When I drove mine for this first day (45 days ago). I was listening to a 70's channel. It was like I was back in time, driving my Road Runner.

55 and going strong

yeah.. I've been there too.. made a couple calls on my brick phone, bought a case on Olympia Beer and broke out my bell bottoms and platform shoes... just like in my old Camaro with the 8-track. Always trying to go back to my youth with no cares or worries...

Thanks Hopper. There was a dealer in West Virginia (MidState Chevy in Sutton) that had a 1SS configured the way I wanted it. There weren't very many SIM 1SS/Manual's around, but it was worth the trip.

I will definitely take your advice on Tom Henry for service. From what I heard from you and in this forum, it's well worth the trip.

Thanks again,

Joe.
