Awesome Tunnel Brace!!

I just bought this tunnel brace from Elite Engineering. I am very impressed with what I have heard and what I have seen. I should get it next week sometime and I will update this thread with detailed pics and a review.

http://eliteengineeringusa.com/Camaro_Tplate.html

Check it out though! it is pretty awesome!

Thanks again Steve! Great customer service and great products!

Pic information: The top picture is the one they sell. the bottom pic shows placement and was most likely an early design.

Dave

I'm going to be a smart ass and say brace the tunnel I've heard that it's just a little bit of structural bracing.

This thread does a good job of explaining its function: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82975

I think the main benefit of it is the added clearance for people that want to run larger exhausts, or have problems with an aftermarket exhaust rattling on the stock brace. The picture of the prototype above (the silver brace in the second pic) was actually installed on a V6 Camaro. My buddy was having problems with his aftermarket exhaust rubbing against the stock brace and the Elite brace solved all of his noise issues. I just wish you could see it b/c the part is simply beautiful. It is too bad it is tucked under the car.

That looks a lot better than the stack of washers I had to use between the brace and body to clear my 3" exhaust

This is how we think different... you think "OMG $100 for that? I will just make my own!" which is 100% fine...

on the other hand... I think...

"OMG, ONLY $100!! That will save me time and money of trying to make my own and f'ing it up 3 or 4 times before finally spending the $100 anyway!"

And or spending a few dollars using stock with some washers to clear non oem exhaust for something you cant see anyways?
