+ 1 I did a muff delete and installed an x-pipe, less than $300 including labor

Yep, all of the above. Here's the x-pipe I used.

I agree with the above but I've read on here that guys are noticing once they have more miles on the car that the stock system starts to sound a little better. Just thought it was worth mentioning because you said you're on a budjet.

My stock SS @ 3400 miles has gotten better with time/mileage. Was very quiet at first, now has a rumble and pops especially when starting up. I've always got water coming out of the mufflers- I wonder it that has anything to do with it ?

I understand you are on a budget, but the only way to do this without voiding your warranty, as you inquired, is to buy a GMPP exhaust and have your dealer install it. If your only looking for sound, an axle back system should suit you well.

I'd go with the offroad axle back system.

Not true, as long as you don't alter the cats it's really hard to void your warranty by changing the exhaust. A muffler delete with X-pipe will not void your warranty.

Don't have a Camaro (YET) but plan to do the muffler delete with resonated x-pipe. From the research I've done (mostly here) it seems to bee the best way to go. I'll be ordering a 2011 and have asked the salesman if they can have the muffler delete done before I take delivery. No answer yet, but I bet he'll say "no way".

I imagine this X-Pipe must be welded in. How much do you think a shop would charge to cut the OEM exhaust and install this X-Pipe? I have had a VERY HARD time finding a shop to do any exhaust work in my area without charging SUPER HIGH labor cost. I WISH there was an old-school car shop near me, everything is modern shops with kids that know only the basics. I live north of Chicago, IL and would appreciate any info on locating a place to have this installed.

Thankyou for any info. Jeff D.

This is true at least on the LS3. I don't know about L99. It does not sound as aggressive as the LS3 system.

It varies on your location. When I did my muffler delete they only charged $70 for it, and that involved them welding in some spare pipe they had in the shop. I can imagine it wouldn't cost much more than that.

I'll be home on May 1st, and I'll let you know what they charged to install the X-pipe.
