the real question here is not how fast the top speed is but how fast the car can reach that speed. im hopeing to be very suprised about what the v6 will be able to achive.

I've been 145MPH on my home road and still had plenty of road left. The road might be 2 miles long.

dont do it guys

Guys if you are not trained to drive at those speeds then don't do it. I am trained and have driven at speeds above 190mph. I will say that once you get past 120mph you feel like you are floating. The slightest over correction you do at those kind of speeds and you will die and chances are you will kill Innocent people. I will say that I was testing a car for a guy in Germany and was doing 165 and I turned the wheel 0.5 inch's to the right and i was in the next lane. Break to hard you are dead, turn the wheel to much you are dead, don't look far enough ahead you are dead with other people. If you are not 100% focuseded and I mean 100% and know how long the car takes to travel at said speed, then your time to break and kcontrolrole of the car with out crashing, then take 2-5 seconds for reaction time ext. Like I said if you are not train DONT DO IT. Thinking you know what you are doing becaus you have scen one to many fast and the furious movies or had your fill of watching car races is not good hard practice and exsperiance.

I do 160 in north Georgia all the time in my 2000 Z28, it tachs at 168 by the way, and I have a little room left even living in a mountainous terrain, but I hope there is no limiter on the SS or I'll be pissed, cuz if the V6 can do 150+ the SS should do 170+ and I can't wait to do that! Maybe one day I'll see 200+!

Laguna Seca would be great, same with infineon. LS would be my choice though. Already driven there and enjoyed every second as soon as I was in the gate.

The GTO is supposed to have a top speed of about 180. That's with 400 hp, 400 lbft, a 3.42 final drive ratio, and a drag coefficient of .31. The Camaro V6 with 300hp and 270lbft and a 3.27 ratio should probably top out at 160. Maybe a bit more.

The car would probably make 150, but acceleration at those speeds would be incredibly slow. I doubt 170 very much. Maaayyybbeee 160 with an adequate straight.

Edit: Laguna seca is a great looking track. That's my favorite on the racing games I play. I'm half way across the country, but I'd love to go there.

Yes this really shouldnt be a thread for how fast everyone has gone. It's not really something to brag about because its just plain stupid to do on public roads. Take it to the track.

The track is where racing belongs. The street is where soccer moms belong. If we start taking over soccer mom roads, soccer moms might start taking over our tracks. We don't want that to happen.
