they are not fog lights, they are DRL's (Day Time Running Lights)

You can purchase a harness to turn them on with your lights at night.

RS package deletes fog lights and they serve a DRL's only.

Out of curiosity (or stupidity as I don't know the answer)... has anyone exchanged a non-RS car's headlight switch (which includes the fog light button) with an RS car's headlight switch?

Would that even work?

Reason I ask is I also have a 2010 VW Jetta. A popular mod is to change out the US stock headlight switch that only has 2 positions on it (on and off) with a Euro Switch, which has 5 positions on it (off, city lights, headlights, front fog lights and rear foglights).

It's a simple $20 upgrade for a lot more control.

Just wonder if the same would work in this instance?

It does not work there is a lot more to it then a headlight switch.

I think it says in the handbook for Rs's that the Halo's double as fog lights..
There's a reason why you can switch to only halos on.

When you "DRL harness" you get 72 different threads.

Wire it yourself. I soldered mine into the side marker lights so they are on anytime I want. Took 20 min to do and a little self satisfaction. You just need a little extra 18 ga wire, solder, and electric tape or wrap.

Halos are the parking lights not the fog lights....
