Question New Camaro owner n00b question

OK I'm picking up my new 2011 1LT RS today after work. I wanna get a MRT v2 & a CAI just dont know which one yet, but I'd like to stay around 300 on the CAI.

But what I'm wondering is will these upgrades void my power train warranty?

and what CAI would you recommend? I read something about a shorter version of the injen and was wondering if that was any good?

Thanks,
Eric

Go to the V6 bolt on section, you will be blown away with information and options! Mrt v2 is very popular but I went with a different one. I have had my Airaid V2 intake for a while and I love it. Check out that section!

Those bolt ons will not void warranty. Only a tune does that. If you replace the intake you void the intake warranty, same as the rest of the parts. Go to far and something oem breaks the dealer might try to blame the aftermarket part as the cause so research first.

vararam looks to have good potential, but you would have to wait a little while to get it. as far as warranty goes, it depends on your dealer. some could care less, some are going to hit you for anything that isn't stock

Oh and allot of people love cai intakes and root fab. Check the for sale section and see if you can find a good deal. Used or from a vender.

I have the following set up on my 2LT/RS.
Roto-Fab CAI
Roto-Fab W/W Reservoir Kit (this relocates the windshield washer fluid bottle)
ADM Race Air Scoop
GMPP Exhaust with Tips.

In "Drive" my highway mileage is 35 mpg.
In "Sport Mode" my highway mileage is 28 mpg.

I also plan to install "DT Shortie Headers" in the near future.

Do you need to relocate the W/W res withe the roto fab or is that something you just did on your own?

Our intake does not require the W/W relocation kit to install and perform well. Our kit is designed to install easily with absolutely no modifications to your car or it's components. No cutting, drilling or relocating anything. Only the stock intake itself is removed.
We have many options including dry or oil filter, air box color choices, and hose color choices. We also have an optional carbon fiber finish available on the inlet elbow and the MAF sensor housing.
Here is a link to more pictures, a dyno sheet and a sound clip!

sir574......well all your questions have been answered...SOOOOO

CONGRATS and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

First off I just wanna say thank you to everyone who responded. I really do feel welcome here and can't wait to pick up my new toy after work! (I'm hardly getting anything done reading everything here).

I decided to go with the BBK 1772 for 2 reasons. #1 Price, 50 bucks cheaper #2 it seemed to get virtually the same torque and HP gains as the more expensive intakes, and I haven't really read anything bad about it.
