Ya gutted bolton shop cars in the 10s! Over the last 2 years I have yet to see a bolton 5.0 run any faster then 11.90s and that was once. The avg bolton 5.0 even with drag radials were all running 12.4-12.0 range at my tracks and stock I never seen faster then a 12.8 with avg of low 13s. I am not saying they cant be faster but those times were all typical around here. Nothing a SS cant handle!

Booooosted.

Tune, intake and exhaust makes it as fast as a Shelby. That makes sense.

I'm the owner of the 2012 5.0 At the time I ran 11.89@121 I only had an Airriad intake, boss manifold, cat deletes, email tune and flowmaster axleback. I have trapped 118 with just intake and tune. I'm not hiding anything. I now have pypes long tubes and a dyno tune. hopefully I will be able to trap around 123mph. My numbers may seem a little high but if you visit a mustang forum, you will see similar mustangs running those those numbers Last edited by debro7046; 03-12-2013 at 08:55 AM. |

The Gearing and weight are helping these 5.0's alot, also the boss intake monifold lets the car shift around 7200-7800rpm
Unfortunetly the camaro does have crappy gearing and too much weight. My advice Try getting some 3.73's along with a decent cam it will get you to that trap speed and some sticky tires to lower the time. |

I have no problems with the times the OP posted for his Son's time. He has headers, full exhaust, boss intake, CAI, and probably an AED or Steeda tune. This combination has been proven over and over for the 5.0 as a solid 11-sec combination.

you can hit 11's with a nightfury cam, i guarantee it.
Not apples to apples, but i saw a thread where a guy goes 10.8's on a cam only vvt setup. |

Thats not what I am saying, I understand a bolton stang has the possibility to run faster then a bolton camaro. The stangs engine designe responds better to a tune and intake manifold swap and ease of using a 15" wheel. Using that boss intake is like a cam swap on a LS engine, my point is a basic tune, exhaust 5.0 is not running any better then the camaros. Once you get into that boss intake, running e85 and such then a bolton camaro has no chance I understand that, a cam will even things out for the camaro. A few cam only camaros have been 10s... Both cars are great, but both cars need to be modded different! The camaro is not going to run what a stang runs with the same parts, its a different car and requires a different setup.

What are talking about, they pull more RPM with that intake and that equals more speed! The mustange has nothing down low to begine with, they run hard at high rpms. Add rpms and power up top were they use it is definitly making a difference!
