Unfortunately my visit to Jennetty has been delayed due to dealership looking to swap out these part#'s "Syncro" 19259991 and "2 Rings"19256242 19256241 in the transmission
Ted is also going to install the Master Cylinder and Stainless Clutch line with a list of go fast goodies, but Warranty Work 1st to get the trans issue on the books and to see if the efforts of the synchro and rings pay off. |

Never had a lot of grind, just every now and again at high RPMs. Had a road trip recently, wanted to take off aggressively, apparently shifted too quick and ground like crazy. Had to let clutch out completely, then ensure I had pedal all the way back in before it would go into gear. Felt like a total noob.
Then I remembered that there were existing problems with grind and started looking into what people have done to solve it. Car is stock with respect to driveline, so when I get my current on-hand parts installed, I'll definitely be coming back to this upgrade, and have it done at the same time as the separate reservoir install. Subscribed but I haven't "voted" yet. Thanks for your time and effort on this!

Got my car back on the road Sunday after some major upgrades over the winter including an LPE LS9 clutch with IDEALG's modified clutch master cylinder and wanted to post some feedback. Man I love this thing. The way the clutch doesn't start engaging until the pedal is off the floor makes shifting almost effortless. I think these cylinders would be a worthwhile upgrade even if the grind didn't exist. It seems like I have a lot more control of the clutch especially when just starting out.
I haven't been able to drive the car hard yet because still breaking in AAM 3.91 gears. Car has 3400 miles and had the 1st to 2nd grind since I got it. Back in January I pulled the trans and had it completely tore down and upgraded including new carbon blocking rings (car actually had these from the factory and still had grind) and a Corvette 1-2 synchro (a little diff design than Camaro synchro) desperately trying to fix the grind. I have heard of other people going the trans upgrade route like I did with mixed results. Some people it fixed the grind, some it made it grind less often and still others that it didn't help at all. Being that I didn't test the upgraded trans before I installed the clutch cylinder, I won't know for sure if the upgrade helped or not. But then I really don't care what fixes the grind as long as it's fixed. The theory that the clutch master was not pushing enough fluid under some conditions has been around for awhile now but nobody had a solution for 5th gen Camaros until IDEALG took it upon himself to find one to fix his own grind. This master cylinder problem is a well documented problem with 4th gen Camaros and C5 Corvettes and there are cylinders on the market for these cars that push more fluid. These cylinders use a different approach to push more fluid (adjustable linkage) that could not be effectively adapted to work with the 5th gen Camaro. What I find interesting is how IDEALG took a complicated problem: designing a cylinder that will push more fluid and came up with such a simple solution: modifying GM's own cylinder. Why reinvent the wheel, right? Based on the limited feedback I have seen so far, I believe they are going to fix the grind problem for a lot of people though probably not all. If the synchros are already too damaged from grinding then they will most likely need replaced to eliminate all grinding. I encourage everyone to post as much info as they can about how these cylinders perform whether it's good or bad. Like I said at the beginning of this post, this is definitely a worthwhile upgrade and I would recommend it just for the improved driving experience alone. |

Had Jerry from Ideal install the clutch cylinder yesterday. So far the results are good. I feel the shifts are much easier. I have done some high RPM shifts with no issue. The clutch does engage higher but not a problem.

yes it is a good thing, it doesn't grab real close to the floor like the stock one. you get a better feeling pedal and you won't have to push your foot all the way to the floor when shifting during normal driving.

I don't have the grind but I am going to pick one up anyway and throw it in the parts bin. PM me for details please.
