Just wasn't sure if that was having any adverse effect on the fluid travel from the master cylinder. I have it set about a 1/2" past the engagement point.
For some people it will be trial and error. if it still ground a gear you would just have to adjust the stop again so the pedal would travel further. I know you know what your doing so i know you understand my point.

The way I've modified the cylinder you want it to travel all the way to get the most out of it. using the pedal stop so the master doesn't bottom out when your hard on the pedal is a good thing. I don't know why GM made it so the master cylinder stops the pedal. I beat the hell out of my car and I haven't broke it yet so I guess they are pretty strong

Judging from the responses in this thread and the pole results above, there must be at least 20 or 30 of IDEALGs modified clutch master cylinders out there now. Yet there are only a few people who have offered any detailed feedback. There are several specific questions that should be answered for everyone's benefit by anyone who has installed one:

1. Did your car have the 1st-2nd gear grind issue?
2. Describe how bad it was: Did it grind most of the time, some of the time, or just occasionally? Did it only grind at high RPMs (above 5000) or also at low RPMs? Did it ever not want to go into 2nd gear?
3. Most importantly, DID IT FIX THE GRIND, only make it better, or not help at all?

This info is important to the many people who have the grind and are disparately looking for a fix. I regularly see posts from new owners (2012 MY) who have the grind and are going through the dealer bullshit that many of us have experienced. So if you have installed one of these cylinders, please take the time to relay your experiences before and after with the grind.

I Installed my Clutch cylinder yesterday. Clutch pedal feels amazing! much better than stock.

I did not have 2nd gear grind issue. I do, however Race (Autocross) my car the majority of the time I drive it.
Hot lapping the car, (5 or 6 immediate passes) The clutch system would fail.

I don't think I will have that result any more... Time will tell.

Finally got the clutch resevoir installed and re-bleed the clutch. So far, so good. Clutch pedal has not sunk at all over night and no 1-2 grind.

Gto resevoirs were on national backorder, so i purchased a Corvette resevoir (nad got hit with Vette tax--it cost twice as much as the GTO resevoir...go figure)

I got my separate Clutch reservoir from a 1990 ford ranger. $18.00 at any ford Dealer.
Got tired of waiting for the GTO reservoir to come in. The vette res. is way too much.

I like this one over the GTO. It is the same size (Diameter and fluid capacity. Difference is that the hose comes out of the bottom instead of the side.

Just for some feedback, I co-own Dyno Tuned Performance in Va. Beach and have installed IdealG's master cylinder on my personal SS and it works great...resolves all the issues that he has stated. The extra resevoir is definitely something that should be done as well. I had issues with the 1/2 shift and the pedal sinking after sitting over night---both issues have been resolved.
Thanks should be given to the guy who diagnosed the problem and DID something about it.

Thanks again IdealG.
