A driveway divided. I have loved Camaros since I was a little kid. The mustang is my daughter's 2010 pony edition. It is actually a fun car to drive, even if it is only a V-6. |

I've never had a Mustang, though I've driven a few. In all honesty, I really haven't cared much for the look of Mustangs since around '71, and I really started disliking the look in '05 when they went to the severely sloping tail lights - and they just keep getting worse. Now (in '15) they have screwed up the front as well. Camaros have certainly had their design woes as well through the years (especially the 70s and 80s), but they really got it right with Gen5. Hope the Gen6 continues the trend.

As some have mentioned, this was simply a post of mine to recognize and applaud camaro5 members for *mostly* being car guys and appreciating all respectable cars, mustangs included. Let's turn this back into a thread about who has/appreciates both Ford and Chevrolet and not make comments that change my mind about camaro5...
Love all the pics so far!

I don't have a mustang but I do also own a 2 ppm white ford lightning. I love my truck and my camaro. I can appreciate a nice automobile no matter who makes it.

I have always loved Mustangs (I'm wearing a Shelby GT-350 t-shirt at the moment!). After driving each I still prefer the way the Camaro drives, but I would love to have both in my garage. Well, I would like to have a two car garage AND THEN I have them both in my garage! Now my Camaro shares a space with my Ducati, and there is not much room for anything else.

I also own a Mustang and like the OP, got nothing but hate from people on the Mustang forum when I talked about buying a Camaro. They spouted off about how inferior the Camaro was and also brought up all the recalls and anything else negative that they could find on the web. In the end, no car is perfect and it all comes down to what makes you happy. I was a die hard GM man and owned first, second and third gen Camaros, Novas, Vettes and several Grand Nationals. In the early 90s, GM really had nothing to offer and I decided to buy a Mustang. I bought a roller for 4K and my first attempt at making one go fast resulted in a 10.9 pass at 131 mph for less than 10K total investment. I was hooked and went through a couple Mustangs in close to twenty years. This year I was looking to buy a new car and test drove both the Mustang and Camaro. I was not convinced either way and decided to rent an SS for a week on vacation. After the week was up, I had to have one and here I am. So far, no regrets with my decision and I have barely driven the Mustang since buying the Camaro. When I do drive the Mustang though, I do realize one thing, the Camaro would really be nice with some BOOST!!

Mustang owners can be touchy, but not all are bad. I do like some generations of mustangs, some i cant stand.
