V6/V8 Hurst short throw $218.00
I know alot has been posted but this is for the v6 and v8 manual and some might rather install the shifter themselves. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=92214388 For the V8

Wow; that seems like a great price. That's about all I paid for a couple shifters that I had on my LT1.
Great find!

If that include the labor to install it's a steal. I installed Hurst STS in all my vette's and helped many buddies do it. While it's not technically difficult the possibility of causing damage to dash trim pieces exists.
I'd gladly pay $218 to have a factory or even dealer install. |

Thanks for the post, that is great! I will wait for a lil while instead of putting it on my order!

That's a great deal, but I don't mind paying an extra $160 for a dealer install, the peace of mind that comes with it, and the accompanying warranty for the work.

Seems like a good price, but I wonder how easy the installation will be.

Looks like you might be able to pop the shifter boot off, take out that silver piece, and from there should only be a couple bolts directly to the transmission. Just depends if the bolts are hidden under the rest of the console or not. |

That's cool.
Clicked on Accessories then Camaro and it only had up 2002. Guess we have to wait a while still. I want headers, not GMPP shorties.

I just read this
#9 NVMY68SS Senior Member Drives: 1968 Camaro SS - 350/5 Speed Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Smithfield, NC Posts: 324 This is gonna hurt some feelings though. Chevrolet Team: Just a quick update on the Camaro launch as preparations are underway this week for the first Dealer Order Submission Process (DOSP) for the all new Camaro. As outlined in this month's consensus notes, the following items will be on constraint: * V6 Engine (LS and LT models) due to one per dealer activity * Cyber Gray Metallic and Summit White Exterior Colors (pending paint availability) * The LPO High Wing Spoiler (pending validation) An additional constraint will also will be introduced for the Hurst Short Throw Shifter LPO (code VYV). This shifter will NOT be available as a LPO accessory (appearing on the window and invoice as a dealer-installed accessory), but will be available in the future as both a factory installed RPO, and a regular dealer installed accessory. Further information on the timing of Hurst Short Throw Shifter RPO will be provided in the coming weeks. Since this shifter will be available as a regular dealer installed accessory, orders with the LPO (code VYV) currently "in-system" will be removed. Dealers should also be encouraged to remove this LPO (code VYV) from their orders. Customers desiring the Hurst Shifter can instruct their dealers to either wait until the new RPO is introduced, or have the shifter installed at the dealer as a Chevy accessory after the parts are released for sale. Again, more information on the shifter including availability of the new RPO will be provided in the next few weeks. Finally, we are planning a web-cast broadcast on the Camaro launch the first week of March for wholesale team members only (dealers will have an IDL broadcast at later date). This web-cast will bring you up to date on current plans and activities including the Camaro unveiling for early May. Details on this webex will be provided next week. __________________ 68 Camaro SS 350 - Tremec TKO-600 nelson@bowtiebrigade.net http://www.bowtiebrigade.net 2SS/RS Black LS3/MN6 IO Interior Ordered 10-13-08 Preferenced 2-10-09 Moved to 3000 2-12-09 Moved to 3300 2-18-09 |

I think I will delete my preorder Hurst option and order one of these at 218.40 plus shipping if this is going to hold me up any longer than the CGM is

I am heading to the dealer this afternoon. The shifter option needs to go if I am going to get this car any time soon.
