2011 Z/28 or 2012?

Will the Z/28 come in a 2011 flavor late next year or will we see it wearing revised interior as a 2012 model?

The 2012's should be rolling off the production line by late June or July. If we see a z28 it will most certainly be a 2012... if we see a z28 next year. And I'm guessing Nov 2011 for production to start.

So is there a good bet that if the Camaro gets an updated interior the Z/28 will have that interior at launch?

Well my guess on the interior is some minor restyling, nothing too major and it'll be sporting Z/28 on the headrests.

second quarter would have it launching right after the 'vert... which would mean you'd have two sets of technical issues to deal with if there were poblems... having the Z28 launch later gives you more time to settle into the 'vert production and makes the Z28 launch as an "anniversary" year model car

Anything after June of 2011 will be a 2012 model. They are still trying to get convertibles in full production and probably won't be fully ramped up until later this year or beginning of 2011. I would be very surprised if Z28 production started before the June 2012 model year. Hopefully it will be displayed in Jan. 2011 at the Detroit Auto Show as the 2012 model.

I hope it's earlier, so there's something really special for the 45th Anniversary, but I won't be too suprised if this happens.

Chevy has to know that the 2012 model will be the Camaro's 45th year, too many Camaro people still working there to let this slip by without some kind of acknowledgment. That is why a 2012/45th Anniversary Edition Z28 in Marina Blue (Original 1967 Z/28 Color) would be soooo coool. OK, so I am a little biased towards the color, but the Z28 needs a blue color that makes it look alive and ready to feed on anything that wants to challenge it for supremacy. After three years in the womb the Z28 going to come out famished and ready to gorge.

They will not bring the vert and the Z28 out the same year. That would be foolish on there part. That is probably why we waited 2 years for the vert. Marketing.

Blue is awful I'm down for Jetstream and like IBM and ABM, nearly as much. If I'm limited to IBM and ABM, I'm going IBM, but I'm liking ABM the more I see it. I just haven't seen hardly any in my area... I definately think there has to be some sort of nod' to the past for the 45th, and can't think of a better way than reintroducing Z28.

This makes me wonder, too. I just wonder if GM hadn't run into the rough times it had when initially launched if there would've been a big gap in release. Oh well - at least it's on the way, and it's looking like it's going to be FI'd. That will make it a lot easier to get by the smog nazis around here!!!

Marina Blue was not a '67 Z/28 only color, I don't think it was even a Camaro only color, it was simply one of many colors available that year.
