Torque App

Anybody on here use the torque app?

I bought the App and bluetooth dongle, and so far it's pretty cool toy.

I use it to clear CEL's whenever they pop up since I don't have my engine tuned with the Longtube Headers.

I carry the dongle in my lunch bucket, you never know when you're gonna need it. Good for watching fuel pressure and what not.

What all does it do? I've heard of it before but don't remember what it does.

Does it void your powertrain warranty? I understand it just reads the OBD2 port but will a dealer see a history of someone accessing the port and accuse me of tuning?

Using Torque pro. It is amazing what it can read. Of course I also have a innov code reader also and it can clear codes. I just think it is crazy you can do all this with a Smart phone.

The dealer can see DTC reset (miles since last reset), but that's it.

There are two kinds of OBDII devices:

Readers - These can collect data from the car's computer(s) and reset trouble codes. These are completely "dealer-safe".
Programmers - These can reflash over the stock tune. These can get you in trouble with the warranty.

Some devices have both abilities, like EFILive.

I've been using it for about a year and a half. Love it. For about $30 (app + obd reader) I can scan for and clear codes, monitor a large number of parameters, have extra gages, and even map overlay data that's collected.

Worth every penny.
