2014 Camaro SS w/ Borla ATAK

Got my new Camaro a couple weeks ago and did some research. Decided to go with the Borla ATAK exhaust catback system. They just came out with the 2014 modified version part #140532. Came in on Wed. and I'm having it installed (don't hate, I'm admittedly a novice). Will have it back tomorrow morning.

Anyway, just thought I'd share the deal I got through Amazon. $1,130.00. Cheaper than everywhere w/ free shipping. Came factory direct with free Prime shipping.

I haven't seen any clips with modified ATAK exhaust for 2014 SS on YouTube. Seem to all be 2010-2013 productions.

Also, I'm learning a lot reading this board. Thanks for the opportunity to share.

So I picked it up this evening and it sounds great. Not as loud as I feared. No drone. Picks up at 2500 rpms.

Only other mod is K&N CAI, which already had a distinct sound. Car is automatic.

I won't pretend I'm too knowledgable, as this is my first Camaro/performance car. Anybody know what type of hpw gains I should expect with current configuration? From what I can tell through research it should be anywhere from 425-440.

You must be calculating crank hp. First off catbacks don't add power if so its very minimal, but the sound they add gives you the placebo effect. And most intakes will add about 10/15 hp at the crank. Being your auto less hp is transferred to the wheels from your mods. Most ppl here will tell you that's ricer math. Congrats on your mods.

Ricer math and butt dyno's are banned from Camaro5.

Exhaust mods AFTER the cats are purely for sound.

I have 2014 SS also, but I accidentally ordered the 2010-2013 version Borla Atak. Installed & works great.

Do you know exactly what's been changed? It's seems to be an Unsolved mystery.

Congratulations on the ATAK. Love mine. Once you get used to the existing sound, you'll probably want more. If you really want to wake that exhaust up, install some long tube headers. My opinion, the ATAK is amazing with long tubes. Just know that it will be louder.

Confirmed with Borla the only diff is that the 2014 kit stick out further..

That makes no sense cuz my 2013 kit sticks out same distance as stock on my 14 SS.

Sounds good! How even are your tips? I gotta get mine adjusted they seemed to have moved during the week after installation.. Left side lower than right.

Thanks! Well, they were even when I left the shop. I'll need to take a look at them this evening to see if they shifted. They seem to have designed the 2014 productions to where you can actually ready the name "Borla" when viewed from above and the tips stick out.

I'll need to compare and make sure they're aligned. Appreciate the heads up.

This is an easy fix. Get under the back and loosen the rear most clamps and adjust, then tighten up. Worse case you could bend the hangers a bit if needed.

Turns out the hangers on the tip slipped out the rubber brummet.. Just had to push/slide it back in.. I'm thinking I'll have to do often, unless i weld on a longer rod to keep it from sliding off permanently.
