So... just for giggles I call the local car parts place to see if they happen to have a K&N air filter in stock.... Guy asks me what vehicle... tell him 2010 Camaro... he's clicking away on the computer... he tells me, "the 2010s aren't even coming up on my computer"... I say "oh... ok..." And then the guy ask me.... (are you ready for this!)

"Wouldn't it be the same as the 09s?"

I some how managed not to laugh out allowed....

So i dial the next parts store... Lady answers the phone... I tell here what I want and what vehicle... same thing, not in the computer yet... So then I tell here, "Well, the guy at the other store thought maybe it would be that same as the 09s..." Needless to say we BOTH did a

its not that funny...not every1 pay attention to every car model...i get this alot...whats better is when people tell me they seen an 2009

That's like the other day while out cruising around in my Camaro I spotted 7 or 8 camaros on a lot. They had different options and colors so I stopped by to look at them and a salesman came running out. First thing he commented on was "how do ya like that v8"? I have a 2LT/RS. Then he started to tell me about the new RJT SS that just arrived and how there are no others in N.W. Indiana this is the first. I told him not true he argued with me and insisted it is. I told him at the dealer my car came from had delivered a RJT SS with a VIN of 105 that I knew cause I had been tracking them and it got delivered before my car did on 5-12. That I also knew cause it was ordered after mine and since the SS were first on the since mine was actually the first order but 3rd delivered car at that dealer. He then said that was impossible since the camaros were not even built till march. He shook my hand and bet me $1,000. I then gave him my salesmans name and number which happens to be the dealer owner's cousin. I told him that he could tell him where to forward the money to me at. He just shook his head and walked away.

Yea I get that to. I also get told that the dealer where I bought my car has a special ordered camaro with like 600hp for $80K. I know this is not true, and just let it go most of the time. I have been told this 2 or 3 times. I spoke to the salesman and he confirmed he had no idea where that came from.

Great story - BTW, I ordered the air filter and oil filters directly from K&N's on-line store, shipped out yesterday so I should have by early next week.

Umm...I'm gonna bet that the forum includes 2009 so that Google and other search engines are friendly to the errant "2009 camaro" internet searchers.

EDIT: Just happens to make camaro5 #4 in the search results!

Can't say I blame people for thinking a new model coming out in early 2009 is an 09 model. Most 2010 models come out late summer.
