As jtmiller92 said even replacing the transmission isn't helping in some cases... sucks... hence why I'm driving a tahoe now....

The GT500 has the same transmission . . . with the same synchros, with the same blocker rings, with the same problems. Go check the Mustang forums.

I was looking into the Challenger they have some serious syncros on their baby's stainless steel not the brass stuff GM uses.
So given the choice and assuming I will not be able to buy an import i would buy a dodge..
Most likely as as soon as I can sell my crappy camaro I will buy a real car like a BMW.

I'm actually having the exact same problem, it doesn't happen every time, and I don't think the Tranny Temp has much to do with it. Nor does the speed or the exact RPM. I've been driving stick since I started driving, and when shifting from 1st to second my 2011 2SS/RS grinds as well. I first noticed it at higher speeds, and attributed it to the fact that I wasn't 100% use to the Hirst that came factory installed, but after 2 weeks of driving the Camaro every day, it grinds when the tranny is both cold and warm, and the rpm's don't seem to matter exactly. Under 2000 I don't usually have a problem, but over that it's anyone's bet on if it's going to grind or not.

I also have had other Camaro owners try it, with the same results. My girlfriend's 2010 2SS/RS has the same problem at random intervals. So if anyone's gets their hands on the new synchro part number please post it so we can see if their's an easier fix then getting a new tranny and praying it doesn't grind.

No grinding at all with my 2011 SS TR6060, at least not yet. However, on the 1st to 2nd shift you have to pull hard to make sure it enages fully. Hopefully this will loosen up over time. Only 1,300 miles so far.

Mine didn't grind at 1,300 miles either, started a few thousand miles later; hope GM fixed the problem on the production line so your new baby won't suffer from it.

Very Frustrating

I have just over 4000 miles on my 2010 Camaro. It started to grind about 600 miles ago ... only under hard acceleration. It started happening on the drag strip. It was intermittent 10 t0 20 percent at first. It quickly began to happen more frequently. Within 20 or 30 passes it happened with every 1st to 2nd shift. My car is heavily modified. I am at 620 RWHP with a Magnacharger, headers, cam ... lots of other mods. My warranty was gone with 800 miles on the car.

I was absolutely not able to make a pass on the track anymore. ADM has replaced my transmission with an RPM Level VI transmission. It has carbon fiber locking rings in the synchros, 9310 output shaft and micro-polished gears (among other things). While we had the transmission out I replaced the stock clutch with a twin plate ZR1 clutch. I intend to take it to the 1/4 track this Sunday. I will update and let you all know if this completely solved the problem ... more to come ...

Same problem here, random grind 1-2 (not repeatable) I also get a grind while putting it in reverse, and I can reproduce the same grind over and over while putting it in reverse. Does not matter if tranny is at temp or is cold. Check my thread I started a while back.

Mine has the problem randomly and the dealer doesn't give a shit, I've gone to 3 different dealers, they can't seem to reproduce the problem. So they refuse to even bother with it.

Andy if you are in the states lemon law it. If you are in canada get a licensed forensic mechanic to take a look at it and take them to small claims.. at least you can get 10k. If you have the SS it might be worth taking them to court period. I have been having issues with mine for over a year .. I went through the same bs... and I drive the same about every day.. Still trying to sell mine.
