Yep, like others mentioned, sport mode mode only affects the way the tranny shifts. Although, it would be cool if it changed the suspension, steering, etc. I always drive in sport mode =)

Press and hold the T/C button for 10 seconds and you will see the T/C & stabilitrak turn off. (lights up in dash). The V-6 does not indicate a "competition mode" but it does affect the gear changes (hydraulic pressure, and fuel/air delivery.
Had a 2011 LT2 before I traded for a 2012 45th Anniversary SS. The V6 was a fun car. |

Ok class, time to review.
V6 T/C button does two things: one press disables traction control, keep holding down until both the T/C and Stabilitrack lights are lit in the instrument cluster (manual for 2012 doesn't give a time but assume 7-10 seconds) and Stabilitrack is also disabled. "Sport" mode is enabled simply by moving the automatic down into the 'M' position. You will see 'S' in the DIC. As long as you don't touch the paddles you will stay in sport mode. Sport mode only changes the shift points and shift firmness and is useful in drag racing because it holds on to 3rd gear through to the end. If you do touch a paddle you will be in manual mode. You are then required to upshift yourself but the car will downshift automatically if you let it. You can get back to sport mode by either moving the shift lever up to drive and back down or just hold the plus (+) paddle for a couple seconds.

Not if you have your tranny programmed.
