Thanks,
I think we'll be going with boost based on gear. That should help us get better launches.

We haven't decided for sure yet, but we have talked about just turning off the boost controller for street driving and just let the waste gate determine the boost during street driving. That way, I can be at 6 or 7 lbs of boost on the street and then let the boost controller take care of things at the drag strip.

I asked about the compression ratio and it should be between 9 and 9.4 if I remember right.

It's a long list. Maybe you could tell me what info you're looking for?

Cool. My engine will be very similar.

427 LSX block
Callies Comp Star Crank
Callies Comp Star “H” Beam Rod
diamond coated pistons,
Clevite “H” Series Bearings
Durabond Cam Bearings
Super Damper
IPS Boost 2 Camshaft
All Pro heads with CTS-V hydraulic lifters

If you want more details, you can always call IPS Motorsports. They have all the parts waiting for my car to come back from the cage shop.

Sounds similar. I'm going dragsonslayer and ultra I beams. Haven't decided on a cam and lifters yet. Already have a Innovators west 8 rib damper, TSP 285CC CNC'd heads with Ti valves, etc.

I turned mine off too unless I was racing. The waste gate determines the boost though not the BOV.

Mine should be at 1000rwhp too but I'm still on the stock block. Yikes.

Haha gotta start somewhere right? You'll get all the jargon down.

Yes I have a Dragonslayer crank, Compstar rods, Wiseco pistons, ARP hardware, head and main studs, etc etc. It's just on the stock block. I'll upgrade that one day, hopefully at my leisure and not because I shattered mine lol.

I haven't purchased any parts yet so I called IPS today. They may do my motor if the price is right. They are definitely the most friendly nicest shop I've talked to in a long time.

Trust me, the nitrous will be for looks. Once you get around 1000rwhp the car becomes a challenge to drive hard. When you finally get the petal to the floor at over 100mph and then the tires break loose again and the car goes sideways, you finally realize that's enough power.

Guess it depends on your gauge of too much power. I dont think its too much power until all you can see is blue sky and clouds on the launch and then it is just right
