If you're going to leave it open, I'd just do an aftermarket axel back for a lot less money.

Are you going to route vacuum lines? Mild2Wild? I'm curious as to how your install will go and about the cutting, whether there will be any ratting and what not. I'm ordering the diffuser next week and the exhaust as well.

I'm sure a regular axle back would suffice if I were to keep it open but I plan on opening and closing, plus I love the sound of those NPP mufflers and OEM look.

Well I planned on running the vac lines, but I need to find a place to do it. The local dealership is asking way too much. I figured I'd leave them be until I got a ticket or something, then getting the vac's done would be a priority. I already have the Muffs, gonna install soon, but I'm low on cash and going to be with the forseeable bills. I simply dont have the cash to get everything done unless I do it myself, which I'm not even going to touch my vac lines myself.

Yeah I'm ordering my 1LE diffuser this week. Did you get your mufflers from gen5diy? Yeah I'm going to wait on the vacuum lines for a little while until I find a place that can do it and knows what they're doing. My dealership said they couldn't even touch it and was incapable of doing it.

Let me know how your install goes!

What kind (brand) of mufflers come on the NPP setup? Are they made by GM or some other company? Anyone know??

Sound and looks. And it's cheaper than aftermarket, I guess.

That I really don't know. :\ I don't know of any aftermarket companies that make dual mode (with butterflies) mufflers. All I know is that they sound nice.

I have to look again but I'm not sure if the butterfly is actually in the muffler itself or is in the pipe coming out of them. Kinda reminds me of an automatic way of the old Borla exhaust on the Gen4 firebrid/camaro only automatically done. Those had a plate you could install or remove with a hole depending on how loud you wanted to go. I had that exhaust on my 00 TransAm and thought it was cool at the time! It cost about $850 but was a complete cat-back I think...

The butterflies are in the exhaust pipe and the vacuum canister/electrical connector are located in the passenger side rear quarter panel area attached to the frame. The electrical connector runs up through the trunk to the fuse box. I have LT's with the ADM Mild to Wild switch which allows you to close the butterflies or leave it stock. Most of the time I leave it in the stock position but the stealth mode is nice to have.
