l99 LIFTER repair

Does anyone here have any Idea what it would cost to have the L99 lifters replaced, I know this is a costly repair, but don't know how much. I have this tapping sound and was wondering if it is the bad lifters or just a leaking header install issue. This noise also came about shortly after my headers got installed.

they sound almost the same, so good call. headers are alot easier to fix, so replace gasket on that first, and dont forget to inspect them for holes while you are at it.
the lifters are probably not bad, it would be broke spring
header fix <300
replace lifters<700
find and replace a spring <600

if it is spring it usually runs bad, backfire or misfires

Yeah PQ thought he had a bad lifter and took his to Vengenace Racing and it turned out to be header gasket.

Sounds like a header gasket, what gaskets did you use?

Even though you voided your warranty, you should still be covered on the Tapping Lifters TSB if it ends up being that, I was when I took my car to the dealership.

Dynatech headers and their gaskets. I heard the factory gaskets are the best , oh well. I plan to trade my car for a M6 anyway.
