First Post, First Camaro, First Question...

I just bought a 2012 2SS and was told by the salesman it had the RS package install. However, after looking at the pics he sent (in is in Seattle waiting shipping) it appears to not have an RS package (SS emblem is silver and molding is not body color). I actually only care about having HID headlights on it. Is this something they can install at the dealership (I havent signed yet but put the money down) or should I just order the lights myself..

Thanks.

Doesn't sound like the RS package.. HID assemblies are very expensive so you'd be better to get the RS package rather than swap later.. JMO

Is this an item the dealership can install? After looking through the forums I am almost certain this is not an option (aside from the standard RS features on 2012 models).

Cool

If the dealer you are dealing with is either that clueless, or trying to shaft you...I would say walk away from there. What else is he going to tell you to believe?

Go to another dealership and get what you want and pay for.

(...And welcome to C5!! )

If you agreed on a price for an RS and they are trying to pass off a dealer install of RS items, I would not take it. You are getting a lower value car than what was agreed on. If you understood you were not getting an RS but the items would be installed to make it an "RS look alike" then fine.

As said above, I wouldn't trust an on-line pic to make this decision. You can always cancel and take back your down until you take delivery, they may try to convince you otherwise but you can take y9our down back.

Call the salesman up and ask him. Not all are shifty. The window sticker doesn't lie. The RS option costs money, so you should find out what you are paying for. Is this a Chevy dealer?

RUN!!!

That dealership obviously doesn't know their asses from a hole in the ground or were trying to rip you off.

Either way, run away from the deal.

First off, Welcome to Camaro5!

We won't be able to know for sure if your Camaro has the RS package or not until you post a picture, but it sounds like a NON-RS to me.

By the way, if your dealer says it has the RS package and it really doesn't, don't buy it unless he takes off the money for the fake RS package.

alaskacamaro, what you described does NOT have the RS pkg.....if that is what you ask for, GO DIRECTLY BACK TO THE DEALER and confront your salesman.....tell him what you ask if is NOT what he sent pictures of.....and untill YOU are satisfied that you are getting waht you ask for.....DO NOT SIGN ANY PAPERS.

oh and i almost forgot......CONGRATS on the new ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Some dealers say yeah its got "this" or "that", but the car acutally doesn't. You can only tell by seeing it in person.
