Are most 5th gen owners new, or previous F-Body owners? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I often wonder how many people have been lifelong fans of Camaro/Firebird's vs. how many people are new owners. I've loved them from childhood (I'm 37) and have owned.....

'94 Purple Pearl Metallic V6 Camaro
'94 Green Trans Am GT (the only year they used the "GT" name)
'00 Red Trans Am

Out of all my cars, these are the ones I kept the longest. Anything other than an F-Body I got tired of after a year or 2. That's why it only seemed natural to buy a 5th gen!

I'ved the F-bodyed cars since they came out in 67. First one was a 70 and then a 76. Both great cars. Followed the news of a new Camaro since 05. Just had to have another one before I leave this world. Great Cars.

I've always been into the Camaro/Firebird dating back to when I was a kid. I think it may have been Smokey and the Bandit that got me obsessed with Trans Am's back when I was 7-8 years old. Been all about 'em ever since. Prior to my 2010 SS I've had:

1979 Black and Gold Trans Am
1993 Camaro
2001 Firebird Formula

Hope to have another Bandit-style Trans Am someday.

I've owned multiples of every previous gen. And was born in '67. So me and the F-body share birth years.

Bought a 35th on my 35th. I'm just hoping they have a 50th for my 50th, and it better have a V-8.

my first car in 1987 was 1980 Z28 black with red stripes, i was 17.
had another 1980 Z28 in blue
1989 GTA TA (my fav. wish i had that one back)

Before my 2SS I drove these cars:

(in Europe)
'91 Fiat Tipo 1.8GT
'94 Opel Vectra 1.7TD
'97 VW Passat 2.0TDI

(in US)
'99 Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6

I can tell you, the 2SS is the car of my dreams!!
(well actually the real car of my dreams is the Maserati GT but that's slightly out of my league...;-)
