Is anyone else dissapointed by the V6 ENGINE COVER ?? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I know as a product planner, it is important to make sure that your upper-level trim parts are "apparently upper level"..... And therefore with the V8, being the premium engine option, it makes sense that the engine cover is nicely designed and detailed. But being the new CAMARO, arguably the most successfully designed car from GM in recent memory....
WHY IS THE V6 ENGINE COVER SO LAME ????????

As a designer, I hate the fact that my the V6 engine cover looks like a generic plastic cover pulled off the shelf. Would it have hurt to put some embossed lettering, or graphic detail on it like on the LS3 ??

All it is is a thin piece of plastic..... so why jip the V6 buyers??? IT IS THE NEWER ENGINE AFTER ALL.... SO IT DESERVES A DECENT COVER!!!

If there are enough of you fellow CAMARO owners (or owners-to-be) that agree with me on this..... then I might just put my idea into action. I want to design a custom, nicely detailed engine cover to make the V6 look just as badass as the V8.

WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN A NICER, MORE DETAILED V6 ENGINE COVER if I were to get it manufactured???? Am I the only one bothered by this???

right now its just an idea. If im the only one that is bothered by it.... then im just going to end up painting mine custom. But if its not just me that feels this way..... then a design exploration would be warranted :-)

I think the engine bay looks better with the cover off.

Nope, I like my V6 Engine cover and so have my friends when I pop it off to look at the engine.

Me too, infact I was very impressed that it looked that nice, just my opinion though! Never had an engine with an emblem on it before!

V6 cover is fine but i would like to buy one if it looks good. I was going to custom paint mine but i guess ill wait to see

I went done and got some Krylon plastic red color and plan to paint it like the after market V8 ones. I'm just waiting to see when my Cold Air intake to comes in to see what it looks like for the V6.

I'm hoping it will be Red with the GMPP chrome intake cover. Vin# 06025

If I end up buying a Camaro, I'm getting a Cadillac engine cover (it's the CTS engine after all). I'm a Ford guy, so it'll take the edge off of having something with a bowtie under the hood. LOL

I think it is fine, if anything disapointed me was it is the same exact one with the Cadillac CTS.

However with my mods I think I'll be fine with it!!!
