What the H-E- double hockey stripes is the deal with post count envy or post count hatred. Am I missing something about Post counts that will help one open the pearly gates when they die...or is each posting good for an entry into some lotto somewhere?
I do not understand, nor care, about anyone's post count on any forum...yet this is probably the 100th mention on this site. WHY?

other forums have it like we do where anywhere you post counts towards your count. as far as a post "contest", there is and there isnt such a thing. sometimes, people will look to a members post count as a reference to how much they've contributed to the forum. while thats normally not a bad thing, occasionally the people with super high post counts dont spend any time outside of a certain subforum and dont contribute a whole lot to anywhere else. that being said, its a web forum. we have word games where people only post one word per post and there are members who have literally tens of thousands of posts in those threads and those threads only. we have members who dont stray too far out of the regional sections, and others who rarely go outside the general section, then there are others who spend most of their time in the technical section. we've got a wide variance of members on here and we do our best to appeal to everyone.
