Hasn't been official word on anything. Don't think we have heard any details on the LGX other than AFM.

I think GM will need a new more powerful turbo 4 before they would put it in the Camaro. The current 2.0T is like 279HP or something like that. Mustang is rated at 310HP on premium gas.

It doesn't seem GM is aligning the 2.0T to match up against the 2.3EB. 2.0T will be base engine, LGX is upgrade. In the Mustang, V6 is the base engine and 2.3EB is the upgrade.

HP isn't everything. Didn't someone recently post a magazine comparison that showed the 2.0T ATS is as fast or faster than the 2.3 Mustang, despite the power difference?

ATS was built for a V8 too.

A lot of wishful thinking in this post. You keep ignoring Al saying he's fighting for every cylinder as part of the context of not following Ford, and then you bring up Ford's design as "proof" of what GM is doing.

What's relevant here is that Al designs the car, and you guys have nothing to do with it. So his comments carry weight and yours are meaningless.
Al doesn't design the car.

I enjoyed the post showing the confirmed gm engines and where they are applied.. I can't see how the camaro doesnt get the 4T. Isn't that a selling point for Ford's eco turbo.. Easily modded? I want over 500 hp on next car I purchase.

You're the only one saying something is for certain. That quote is taken out of context and multiples outlets have run with it.

You just aren't bothering to read that as anything other as anything other meaning other than no 4 cylinder.
Ford didn't replace their V6 with a turbo 4, so how is Al making that comparison other than to say there will be no 4 cylinder? Can you read?

He's the chief engineer, exactly. You can spin about how "little say" he has in decisions, but you don't have anything to do with GM and you're contradicting him anyway. Al > you when it comes to the Camaros he's designing.

You are speculating. I'm quoting the chief engineer for Camaro.

Either post your proof of a 4 cylinder or quit trolling.

With the CAFE requirements going to over 54 MPG for MY2017-2025, a turbo 4 camaro is inevitable and will be key to the long term success of the model.... times change and the camaro either adapts or goes extinct, my vote is the former.

You are speculating. I'm quoting the chief engineer for Camaro.
Ford planned on dropping the V6 in favor of the turbo 4 but rental companies prefer the V6s. That's why the V6s make less power and get worse mileage than they did last year.

He's designing the car but he still has to work within the parameters GM sets. It's not like he can just demand certain engines. He has to work with what he is given.

You are taking his comment out of context.
