We've all gotten the "it's too heavy to be a sports car" nonsense. First, it's a pony car not a sports car, but whatever. Second, if I wanted to drive a death trap I would have bought a Z3 or MX-5. While unfortunate for the OP, the pictures demonstrate one of the main reasons I bought a 5th gen Camaro...safety. I like a large, heavy car. It's like a life insurance policy. Anyway, I'm happy for Dillinger1LE. Thank goodness you weren't severely injured. The car is replaceable, you are not. I'm sure you will be stepping into a new Camaro sooner rather than later.

Wow, glad you are okay that's definitely what's important! I have seen numerous crash pics involving Camaros and they seem to fair very well due to their weight and safety features, which is a great thing!

Very glad you are okay but sorry about your Camaro. It is amazing how hard a lick these cars can take & passernger still able to walk away with no or only minor injuries. I hopt the drunk driver gets more than just the typical slap on the wrist & you get a new camaro ASAP.

Exact same damage done to one of our club members cars this weekend.
Air Bags and safety devices saved her as well. Kudos to GM for the extra bags, safety lock on doors. And really glad you're OK. |

The Camaro has better crash ratings than my 6000 lb SUV!

It's easy for a Camaro to become part of the family, akin to a loyal companion. What with all the features, the speed, the power etc. The biggest trick of it is GM made a car that will guard you all the way down the line, and I think that's what I respect the most about it.
She did you the ultimate service anyone can ask for in a vehicle, she kept you alive and able to see another day. Can't ask for more then that, it's good to hear you're alright. Hopefully you're rolling out in that new 1LE soon. |
