I may have to come down to Suwanee to see it in the sun. My company has a Distribution Center there maybe I need to visit...

Make sure to get a good macro close-up of the black paint when complete.
Thanks Lightrider! I'm sure that DC needs a visit.
I have updated the first post to show the first couple coats of clear. The last picture shows the red metallic flake. I'll get better pics of it after a couple more coats of clear, wet sanding, and buffing.

It will be getting the pinstripe today and more clear. Getting close. A couple more days.

On Tuesday, 4RD H8R called me and wanted me to come take a look at the pinstripe. I did that this morning. We decided that it was a little too thin. They are going to redo the pinstripe hopefully today. Couple coats of clear goes on top, wet sand, and buff. Going to be tight to even get it done by Friday. However, it is goint to look sweet! I got a good look of the red flakes in the black, and it is just the subtle detail that I love.

I have been doing some painting of some parts at home. They are ready to go on the car as soon as I pick it up. AAC LED side markers, and my CAI air box and tube.

I also looked at the COTW this week, which is an orange convertible. He painted the ends of his strut tower brace, and polished the crossbar. That looks really nice. I'm thinking about what I could do, with black and white. Maybe painting the ends black, and wrapping the crossbar in white carbon fiber vinyl??? Or just paint it white??? Any opinions?

Likewise, I'm going to need to do something with the engine cover. Gotta get rid of the silver. That doesn't go too well with white in my opinion.

You can't go wrong with either color! I am partial to both.

Thanks!

I got some bad news today. The car won't be ready until sometime next week. Some things with the pinstripe didn't turn out so good, and they are redoing it. Also while removing the stripe, they got into some of the black, and will end up redoing some of that too. Anyway, they promised me that it would be perfect, and done the right way.

After waiting for the car to be built, and the car sitting in a rail yard lot for 10 long days because of the deal with Allied Trucking, I can wait a little longer.

I feel really bad about the new car not being finished. I know 572 wants his new ride back but I saw a few things I couldn't bring myself to let go. I know one of the biggest reasons he trusted us with his car is to get things done right and I want it to look lik the factory did things when we are finished...but better!

That's the sign of a good shop. I would rather wait the extra time to have a nice job.

I'm still glad that I trusted 4RD H8R with my car!!! It's going to be awesome! He is checking every step that is done on the car, and if it isn't perfect, he's having them redo it. He is doing an outstanding job with it.

4RD H8R dropped off my strut tower brace and engine cover last night so that I can get them painted. I have to get rid of the silver.

The only question is how long the newly painted engine cover will be on the car. I'm starting to think seriously about a maggy.
