Question Camaro RS or SS

I am 17 years old and my parents are willing to buy me a camaro. The only problem is I don't know which one to get. I've heard get the RS and I've heard get the SS. I'm definitely getting an automatic cuz I don't know how to drive stick and I'm gonna always be in traffic. Some one help me please, I'm confused, the money is not the problem I just dont wanna buy the SS cuz I don't need power and I don't wanna pay for premium gas. Some one help

answered your own question
ps: RS isn't anything but a package you can get added to the camaro

Read up on them a bit, the RS is an appearance package available on various sub models. Welcome.

Get the SS now and you will save a bundle (and bandwidth) in about a year when you trade up for one.

Get the LT RS. The v6 has 312 horsepower which is plenty and will help with gas mileage and insurance premiums.

If you get a 2012 you get 323 HP with the V6

Tpot543, I have one....I love it.....do some reading......look at all the different models, look thru WWW.chevrotel.com if you want a leather interior, get the 2LT/RS, if you want a cloth interior, get the 1LT/RS. this is a V6 model, and its got PLENTY OF POWER. You'll love it!!!

oh and btw......CONGRATS on the new ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

A few items here. If you are going to always be in traffic get an auto. I've been there and HATED a stick commuting in traffic.

As a dad, I would heartily recommend you get the V6 (1LT or 2LT). It has lots of power but a better car to learn on. The SS might be in your future, but give the V6 a try for now. If money is no issue, you can always trade up as you become a more experienced driver. Adding the RS package will mean more bells and whistles, but same drivetrain.

Would your rents consider buying me a ZL1? I promise to cut the grass every weekend. Take out the trash. Make my bed EveryDay! I promise!

if they buy me a new car I will be a better son all around, dishes, yardwork,i will even do volunteer work, seriously for someone your age fuel mileage has to be a consideration and if your like the rest of us having big power at 17 is a recipe for disaster, its not a matter of if you will have a fender bender but when,

Thanks guys for the help. I think I'm better off with the RS cuz the only problem was that I wanted the best but I realized that the 2LT/RS is more than enough. I know 4 kids my age with the RS and it's perfect for a kid. Thanks for the comments
