Here's a pic of summer (rear) vs winter (front) tire/wheel combo. Sport Edition WX5 and tires are Blizzack DMV-1s 235/55/19

All the local tire shops I have visited say that my car cannot use 17" rims. 18's are the smallest I can go. I have tried telling them that that is only for the SS with the Brembos, and that mine has just the standard brakes. Am I correct?

Wanted to go local for the convenience of having someone nearby if I have issues, but so far no one can match tireracks price on 4 MSW type 23's and 235/65/17 General Altimax Arctic. Especially since mounting and balancing is free. Just wish tirerack had a payment plan or credit.

The 17's that I list will fit. We do work with "Pay Pal credit" which is a revolving payment plan. Please call me direct if I can help you set this up.

Hey Rudy,

I need a winter setup. Not to worried about looks but needs to handle a Northern Illinois / Southern Wisconsin winter.

What do you recommend?

Hey Rudy, I've got a 2010 2SS/RS with the 20's on it. From what I've read so far LM32 blizzaks, 245/45R20 on all 40 corners is looking like the best idea. Mostly flat roads with light to medium snow, but salted & plowed regularly. Think these would be sufficient?

Thanks!

Take a look at post #577. Look at the wheel on the front. This a 19 inch sport edition WX5 wheel with 19 inch snow tires. This would be my least expensive wheel that will clear the brakes on the SS car. I am can not giving pricing in the technical forums so please look online or give me a call and I can get you a price.

Thanks!

Thanks for pointing to the 19's.

Will it do any harm NOT running TPMS sensors for the winter?

It doesn't hurt. You'll just have to deal with the light constantly being on, and probably a warning noise on startup.
I bought four tpm sensors on eBay for a decent price. Way cheaper than anywhere else. Taking a gamble on if they work or not though.

Thanks i007spectre. I didn't think it would hurt anything but never hurts to ask.
