I just order a 'vert this weekend -- 2SS/RS IBM w. CGM stripe, black interior, hurst shifter. I'm trackin' my order like a Dominos Pizza! How long can 6-8 weeks seem?

Not only will this be my first new car, it will be my first American Muscle car. After 35 years on the planet, and 19 years of licensed driving, I figure I deserve it, and I'm past my Eurotrash stage. (Anyone want to buy a gently used Volvo S60 T5?) It'll be only my second convertible -- had a Miata for a little bit. I look forward to joining a "car community" of owners.

Here's my question: for personalized plates, what do folks think of: "MMXI V8"?

It will definitely be a painfully long wait...but its worth it. You should have tried being me, it took 9 months to get my coupe!

Welcome. I had a 6 1/2 week wait from my initial order in late Janaury until my allocation was accepted by GM this week. Things look like they are starting to happen now as I went to 3000 status this morning. Hopefully, your dealer has his allocation now or will have soon, and you won't have to wait too long.

I've been planning this purchase since they unveiled the convertible concept in 2007. You can see my wait below. Almost 5 months, but I was told by both dealers in town that mine was the first order delivered to a customer in Tucson. It can be agonizing, but be patient. Give them the time to build a quality product, and spend the time in quality control. Believe me, it's so worth the wait.

i hate to use this term but its all about allocation allocation allocation! i ordered mine on 2/13/11 they said it was suppose to be here 4/10/11 but now there talkin 5/10/11

I hope everything moves quickly for you. And as stated above allocation has a lot to do with it.

Mine is taking an extended vacation in Canada.

I haven't seen my email update yet, but I just checked and I have been moved to 3300 status, too. According to my dealer about 2 weeks ago, build week is March 18. Maybe we should all get together and send the plant a couple hundred pizza's? LOL!

I ordered My 2SS RS Black exterior IOM Leather Interior Trim 20" Polished a week ago. I'm over in Afghanistan since early Nov and My Dad passed away on Feb 1st. I get home on May 5th and I'm so anxious to get My Vert. I know it will be worth the long wait.

04/08/2011 - (3300) Order scheduled for production. Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle.
04/16/2011 - (3400) Order Broadcast (internal plant paperwork order produced). Order is sent to various build & supplier areas to bring order together.
